  1. What the hell are you talking about. He is a 6'6 point guard, what do you mean tha finess crap won't work on 6'9 college players. There is nobody at the college level that can match up with Livingston, he is either to quick or to tall.
  2. No, that is incorrect. Palmer has stated in an interview with theinsidershoops.com that Illinois is his current favorite. The reason that he isn't ranked in the top 100 on rivals is because they haven't done a list yet. Type in any of the big names for '05 and they aren't ranked. Also, aboz, the site you use must be pretty off on Palmer because Kansas and Illinois aren't going to be recruiting the 38th best player in the state.
  3. Thanks, it worked. I looked through the entire list and I didn't see him anywhere. I wonder if they only rank players they have seen and they haven't seen enough of Palmer yet. I have been to sites that only ranked players they have seen so that can be the case. But believe me, Palmer is going to be a very good collegiate player. If he was at Nike or ABCD this past summer, he's seen him. Could have possibly overlooked him, let me see where he's at in the Illinois state rankings. Palmer is from Tennessee.

  5. Damn, well I can't afford to do that right now, but I find that really strange that he is not ranked in the top 100. Especially when most analysts have him in their top 40.
  6. I looked at the 2005 rankings. BTW, how do you know what rankings I looked at anyhow? Aboz do you have a link to their 2005 rankings. I'd be interested to see why Palmer isn't rated in their top 100.
  7. IU with two of the top 5 players in the country. Damn Mike Davis is one hell of a recruiter. I am a Hoosier fan myself, and Davis has taken a lot of heat in regards to his recruiting ability before he pulled arguable the top class in 2004(some say Texas and some say IU depending of different rankings). Besides 2 guys in the top 5(in most ranking White is closer to 10th overall then 4th) they also have 2 consensus top 75 players(SF Vaden and SF Hardy) and another guy ranked in the top 100 in most rankings(SG Ratciff). IF that isn't enough there is a rumor that IU is going to attempt to get a 6th recruit and attempt to get clearance from the NCAA from the 5/8 rule. Rothbart, a 7 ft 190lb(skinny European born SF) from Cali, is down to Arizona and Indiana and recently came for a visit despite the fact that IU has 5 recruits. Another rumor is that Rothbart will commit IF Smith decides to go pro(which is about 50/50 at this point). Smith's dad was quoting as saying Smith was probably going to play 1-2 years of college ball, but most feel that if he is a guaranteed lottery pick he will skip college. IF all 5 kids do end up at IU(and possible Rothbart as well) the Big 10 better look out. I have a feeling that Illinois will feel the affects of the lose of Self most in recruiting. Livingston would be a HUGE sign for Illinois. You better tell your buddies at Illinois to make signs and make Livingston feel loved if they want him. Don't worry about us making signs that is already done. And the entire quad had had writing in chalk about Livingston too. There also will probably will be a crowd of over 1000 people at Ubben for the practice. There was about 500 for Hansbrough and Palmer and Livingston will probably get twice that. I'm not to worried about recruiting. I was before Pruitt but Weber winning him away from MSU was huge. He is nothing special, but that showed me that Weber can recruit. Also, the fact that we are on the short lists for 5 top 25 juniors is a good omen (I'm not saying we will get them though). As for those reported comments by Livingston, here is what he said in the News Gazette within the last couple days. This was a guy who posts on an Illini board that I visits summary as it is a paysite. Great article. Shaun says he is going to make the decision 100% on his own. Also says he has heard all the rumors that Illinois has started to fall behind duke, zona , and NC and says that is "Greatly Exaggerated." "This isnt a courtesy visit. Im going because im interested in attending the school." "They first recruited me, and have known me the longest. I also have lots of friends on the team." Kudos to IU on their 2004 recruiting class. IMO it is the #1 class in the country. With that said I don't see both White and Smith making it onto campus. Even without one or the other IU's recruiting class is still top 3 nationally.
  8. Come on give me your honest opinion. If a player for U of I was found guilty I honestly couldn't support the team while he was playing.
  9. McKeon is going with Beckett in game 6 and probably Pavano in game 7. Both on short rest.ESPN
  10. Forgot to put this in my orginal post. If you can't tell I hate Dick Vitale. Funny LinkLINK
  11. ...with this article besides me. Why the hell does Pierre Pierce get any positve press. The guy pleaded guilty to assault causing injury after a plea bargain because he was accused of sexual assault. I love how Vitale says an off-court incident, he commited a crime Dick, don't ignore it.ESPN
  12. Out of those guys the only one I care about is Valenzuela. The guy might develop into a pretty good hitter if he can ever stay healthy.
  13. Other good news is that U of I the current favorite of Top 25 Junior David Palmer. I saw him play when he came for an unofficial visit last month and he is going to be a great player. BTW, Palmer isn't rated in the top 100 Juniors in Hoop Scoop. Where'd you see that he's consensus top 25? I never said consensus, but I really have to question their rankings if he is not in the top 100. He might not be a consensus top 25 but he should at a minimum be top 40. Here is where I got the info. Him and Hansbrough both visited U of I last month. Hansbrough is more highly regarded but I came away just as impressed by Palmer. Remember, I only saw them once though, I have also seen Luke Zeller play as he also visited U of I. All three are going to be great players, if U of I gets one I'll be happy, especially since the state of Illinois is stacked for '05.LINK
  14. IU with two of the top 5 players in the country. Damn Mike Davis is one hell of a recruiter. Yeah, but don't be surprised if one of those guys goes pro.
  15. theinsidershoops.com also has Howard #1. Honestly, I was being biased when I said Livingston is the number one player in the country. I do think he is as good as Howard and really, any player in the top 10 is an absolute stud and it doesn't matter how they are ranked.
  16. Dwight Howard is from Georgia and Livingston plays at Peoria Central in Peoria, IL.
