  1. I think it is now quite obvious why Paniagua couldn't catch on with either Tampa Bay or Detroit. Wow that was terrible.
  2. 3-0 on one of the luckiest base hits you will ever see. Way to go Tony G.
  3. Way to go Joe 1-0 White Sox. Men on second and third with only 1 out.
  4. I really like the player Carlos has become. It looks like he might finally be living up to the potential everyone thought he had.
  5. I said stat for pitchers. Hudson has had a bunch of games blown by his bullpen this year. Does the fact that he has less wins than Moyer mean that Moyer is having a better year? Stop playing around with words and answer the question.
  6. So according to your theory that wins are the most important stat for a pitcher, your feel that Jaime Moyer and Andy Pettite are having better years than Tim Hudson or Pedro Martinez?

    Urlacher

Playing safety in college is far different than in the NFL. To play strong safety you don't need great cover skills but Urlacher's would be terrible for a safety.
  8. Yes, he has 7 wins but against 5 losses, not exactly a great win percentage. And he didn't quit against the Cubs. He told Manuel to have someone ready in the bullpen in case he got into trouble. This was because of the San Fransisco game in which Colon ran out of gas and gave up 5 runs in the 9th because manuel had no one up in the bullpen.
  9. I would if that was possible. Its kind of hard when I have class and its a 3 hour drive from Champaign.

    Urlacher

Urlacher can't cover well enough to play safety. Also, that leaves us with one legit linebacker in Holdman. I haven't even seen Urlacher be able to cover running backs or tight ends. I can't imagine him being able to cover an NFL wideout if they go 4 wide which is very common.
  11. Colon is 16th in ERA, 6th in Ks, 12th in wins, 2nd in complete games, 3rd in innings pitched, and 8th in WHIP. No he hasn't been the ace I was expecting, but you could make the case he has been among the top 10 starting pitchers in the AL this year and thats not to bad.
  12. I don't think he has that good of a shot either, but who has been more valuable to any team in the AL this year.
  13. 1. Esteban Loaiza - some homerism here, but think about where the Sox would be right now without him. We very likely would be 10 games back in the division, you can't say that for one member of any other contender. Usually not in favor of pitchers winning the award but no hitter on a contending team is having a great year. 2. Bret Boone - gold glover at second base also producing tremendous numbers for a contending team 3. Frank Thomas - no other hitter in the AL has been as clutch coming down the stretch as Frank Thomas 4. Alex Rodriguez - look at the numbers and a gold glove caliber shortstop, enough said. 5. Manny Ramirez - he is having an excellent year but his issues in the clubhouse will probably hold him back in the voting.
  14. Hudson takes the loss today against the Angels. He also falls behind Loaiza in ERA albeit 2.60 for Loaiza to 2.61 for Hudson. Loaiza is now tied for first in wins, second in ERA behind Pedro, and 4th in Ks behind Mussina, Pedro, and Halladay.
  15. Only if you have no problem supplying to someone under the legal age.
  16. So Buehrle gets criticized less because he makes less money? Also, I was expecting just as much from Buehrle as Colon so that argument is not true in my case. However, I'm done arguing for the night and am just going to enjoy this victory.
  17. Actually I'm at school, U of I right now but I might be in town this weekend.
  18. Yeah I understand what your saying. I'm a big Bears fan and absolutely hate Kordell Stewart. However, if they happen to do anything this year (no chance) I'm not going to root against the guy.
  19. I never questioned your loyalty to the Sox. I just feel Colon is over criticized when he is having a better season then Buehrle who recieves almost no heat at all on this board. Colon is stepping it up big time when it counts and lets just celebrate that.
  20. This is why he was the most coveted pitcher in the off season. His last three performances have been unbelievable. He is stepping it up when it matters most and that is what I like to see. Anyone who questions his effort just has to look at the game tonight and see what a competitor he truly is. Colon this Buds for you.
  21. I'd have to agree. Not the most dominant but the best performance of the year by any Sox pitcher.
