  1. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Dec 10, 2015 -> 12:29 PM) I absolutely agree but honestly, who cares? This roster has needed a huge overhaul forever and it never happens. Until that happens we're stuck and just to be clear, I'm not ready to give up on Fred after 20 games but he's certainly been bad so far. Edit: yeesh, that post was all over the place. I'm not giving up on Hoiberg yet either. I've just been pointing out that the offensive bump we were sold that we would see hasn't been there at all and the offense looks worse than it did under Thibs.
  2. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Dec 10, 2015 -> 11:08 AM) They don't have like any players that fit what he wants to do offensively. Bottom line is, regardless of the coach, this team isn't a contender. What players does he need to fit his offense? This roster isn't a title contender and it is not an amazing offensive roster but there is no way they should be as bad as they are on that end.
  3. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Dec 10, 2015 -> 10:37 AM) Are they worse on offense? I know defensively they are worse for sure. Way worse offensively than they were last year and their offensive efficiency right now is lower than any year under Thibs, even years where he didn't have Rose at all and Butler wasn't a start yet. They were actually 11th in the NBA in offensive efficiency last year with an offensive rating of 107.5. This year they rank 27th right now. They have actually been better on defense so far this year than they were last year though.
  4. QUOTE (bmags @ Dec 10, 2015 -> 10:04 AM) Aside from giving more time to Mcdermott (which, with Dunleavy injured, would have likely happened with Thibs anyway), can anyone point to any criticism of Thibs that Hoiberg has "corrected". I think he is playing guys a little less and giving people a little more rest but otherwise they basically look like the same team (just worse on offense) that they were under Thibs.
  5. QUOTE (DBAHO @ Dec 9, 2015 -> 09:57 PM) Yeah I just saw him on NBA League Pass, he's ranked 2nd in 3PT% entering tonight at 47%, even ahead of Steph Curry, how crazy is that. It's crazy only in that I don't think Snell is as good as his percentage but he does nothing but take ridiculously wide open shots and they are all catch and shoot whereas Curry is taking and making ridiculous shots on a routine basis.
  6. That call went the Bulls way but I hate that call so much. Butler shouldn't be rewarded from moving forward into the defender on that play when the defender never moved into his space.
  7. Mirotic just isn't a good ball handler. He really can't create at all when people don't bite on his pump fake (which no one should since he isn't a good shooter).
  8. Even when Mirotic makes 3s his jumper looks terrible.
  9. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Dec 9, 2015 -> 07:14 PM) Tony Snell has a distinctive thud when he bricks threes. I know this because I hear it a lot He is actually shooting very well from 3 this year. The problem is he sucks at everything else on the court.
  10. QUOTE (fathom @ Dec 9, 2015 -> 11:46 AM) Brewers and Reds gonna battle for that #1 spot. Another season where Cardinals/Cubs/Pirates all will top 90 wins. The Braves will be in the mix as well.
  11. That is an unbelievably awful trade for the Diamondbacks.
  12. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 8, 2015 -> 05:31 PM) In what world is a GM going to call a player, get his dad, and then still outline his contract offer to him? Also worth noting is that Saad's father is native Syrian, who moved here at age 18. I am guessing at best he is ESL, so the likelihood his being involved in his son's contract negotiations directly have to be pretty slim. And even if it is true getting $6 million annually vs $5 million annually is a huge raise. Yes, it is a ton of money either way but we aren't talking about a guy getting MLB star money where $1 million a year isn't as big of a deal.
  13. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Dec 8, 2015 -> 12:36 PM) 7 years and $150 million is "incredibly team friendly" to me compared to what he'll get if he's actually a free agent after 2019. If you thought he was healthy and you could ink him to that deal...you could again be calling it "still a great bargain" in 2020. Only reason why you wouldn't do that if he was willing...is health. Yep. Based on the Price and Greinke contracts if Sale hits free agency while healthy and without regressing in 2019 he will be looking at a 7 or 8 year deal with an AAV of over $30 million.
  14. Huge fan of the movies and I'm not sure I've ever been as excited for a movie as I am for the Force Awakens. Wasn't quite sure how to answer my viewing experience for the original trilogy because my first time watching those was on VHS but I watched all 3 in theaters when they were re-released in 1997.
  15. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Dec 7, 2015 -> 05:04 PM) I could maybe see it in cases where someone wants to see it at some specific huge theatre with the best audio capabilities, etc (say a specific Imax theatre) or just some really well known historical theatre. I'm taking my department to see it for our christmas party (followed by lunch). We are seeing @ 9 AM on opening day than lunch and than I'm letting them go home. I'm guessing this is what it is for the secondary market sales. I'm seeing tons of sellouts in the Chicago area but there are so many theaters and so many screens there are still tons of shows with capacity.
  16. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Dec 8, 2015 -> 09:06 AM) Derrick Henry would probably the most underwhelming winner in at least a decade. Figured voters may have learned their lesson on Alabama RBs after Ingram and (sort of) Richardson. It's pretty easy to play RB there. It is and I don't think he is the best player or even RB in the country but Mark Ingram has actually turned into a really good NFL back and Eddy Lacy was really good his first two years but clearly has some effort issues. Yeldon has been respectable as a rookie as well. Richardson has really been the only Bama bust at RB in the NFL recently (but he was an incredible bust).
  17. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Dec 6, 2015 -> 06:50 PM) Completely disagree with about everything in your post. OSU last year is definitely better than this MSU team but Bama is much much worse. I never said Bama is better. They absolutely have been better on D this year and their secondary has been much less susceptible to big plays.
  18. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Dec 6, 2015 -> 05:19 PM) Why? They have Jansen who is a beast. Also, going after Iwakuma. Without Greinke maybe they are thinking about going the Royals route of having an unhittable pen that shortens games.
  19. QUOTE (fathom @ Dec 6, 2015 -> 04:22 PM) Horrible game, horrible loss. Might as well lose rest of games now. Yep. But no doubt they are going to finish 7-9.
  20. This is an unbelievably bad football game. Bears just got incredibly lucky there. If he intercepts that the Bears are pretty much done.
  21. QUOTE (soxfan49 @ Dec 6, 2015 -> 02:41 PM) Jeff Fisher is a horrendous coach He's unbelievably bad. I have no idea how he still has a job.
  22. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Dec 6, 2015 -> 01:06 PM) Bama has no passing game at all. None. Last year they had the best WR in football and lost. I've got MSU by a score. Last year's OSU team was much better than this MSU team. And Bama's secondary is significantly better this year than it was last year and they are better on D overall. They aren't as explosive on offense but MSU is just no where near as good on offense as OSU was at the end of last year.
  23. QUOTE (zenryan @ Dec 6, 2015 -> 12:47 PM) Clemson-OU Alabama-MSU two thoughts 1. All we heard from this committee was that OU possibly playing in Texas would be the luck of the draw. They wouldnt move teams around to get away from a home field advantage. So they get dropped for what reason? 2. I know its not based on style matchups but the Clemson-MSU/Alabama-OU would have been much more appealing. You'd have spread teams vs power teams but now its spread vs spread and power vs power. Seems like Alabama got the breaks here. MSU is the type of team that usually doesnt give Saban fits. Would've been interesting to see if Alabama could've beaten fast tempo teams like OU and Clemson in consecutive weeks. Eh, MSU beat the #4 team in the country last night. Not surprising they jumped from 5 to 3. The 4 teams that should be in this year are in so that is all that really matters.
