  1. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jun 9, 2015 -> 10:50 PM) I can't believe what I am witnessing. The Cavs could/should be up 3-0 against arguably the best team we've seen in 19 years with LeBron and absolute bums/scrubs. I still can't bring myself to think the Cavs can win this series. But they're two wins away with their belief/confidence soaring by the minute. We'll see what happens. But you LeBron haters (omg the decision!!!) better prepare to stay off the internet/social media/etc... LeBron is two wins away from being at minimum co-GOAT. I'm a numbers guy but I don't believe for a second this Warriors team is the best team since the 95-96 Bulls. LeBron to me is the 2nd best player I've seen and winning or losing this series doesn't change that. But I've also been consistent in that position and I've defended him more than most on this board. I don't think there is really much argument that MJ and LeBron aren't top 2 of all time though.
  2. Another lousy game for Curry despite the good shooting late. Really careless with the ball tonight (although he did get fouled by LeBron on prior turnover).
  3. QUOTE (Boogua @ Jun 9, 2015 -> 10:29 PM) They're playing Draymond Green like he's Tristan Thompson. And it's working. His confidence is absolutely shot. They have been daring Green and Barnes to beat them all night and they failed miserably.
  4. What the Cavs are doing defensively so far in this series is simply incredible. Who would have ever thought that Dellevadova would have this type of impact on the postseason.
  5. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Jun 9, 2015 -> 04:57 PM) Iirc we drafted a guy with a big time arm relatively early, I think from a Texas school, with just dreadful stats last year. Can't remember his name but I bet he sucks. Zach Thompson? His number weren't that dreadful in college and he hasn't been terrible so far in the minors (far from great though).
  6. QUOTE (BlackSox13 @ Jun 9, 2015 -> 07:01 AM) http://www.milb.com/scoreboard/index.jsp?c...mp;ymd=20150609 Charlotte- Haviland 6:05 CT Birmingham- Buciferro 4:00 CT Birmingham- Montas game two. Winny- Layer 5:00 CT Winny- Clark game two. Kanny- Adams 6:00 CT Adams will face the 2014 1-2 pick in Tyler Kolek. Unless the box score is wrong it looks like Montas is pitching now.
  7. QUOTE (Dunt @ Jun 9, 2015 -> 04:36 PM) So, most of these guys seem like Slot or underslot signings....who are they saving for? There could be a high school kid that they have talked to that they plan on drafting early tomorrow that they are saving money for.
  8. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Jun 9, 2015 -> 12:40 PM) Should be way quicker then that. Chalmers is off the board. They are still taking about a minute to a minute and a half between picks today. Tomorrow is when it becomes rapid fire.
  9. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 9, 2015 -> 11:44 AM) That isn't luck. Historically the "poor drafting" was due to refusal to go over recommended slot. That isn't luck. That is a strategic decision to funnel resources to the major league team. It is not a coincidence that we are seeing hitters move through the system now that the rest of MLB is now subject to the slot ceilings. It was also due to not being in a position to draft high on an annual basis, like the Cubs and Astros of the world. That also isn't luck. That is a decision to purposefully field bad baseball teams for a half of a decade. It was a really stupid strategic decision but agreed that the refusal to spend on the draft is the main reason for the poor drafting that the Sox had for a long time.
  10. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Jun 9, 2015 -> 09:50 AM) So what's the best way to do this? If they sign 4 college seniors for $10,000 each that leaves them $1,566, 900 for their other 3 picks. What can they push it to in order to not lose a pick? Unless the rule has changed in the last year you can go up to 5% above your bonus pool without losing a pick.
  11. QUOTE (GreenSox @ Jun 8, 2015 -> 11:03 PM) #3 RPI league isn't exactly weak. He played on the only weak team in that league. Hitters are a lot more scarce in this era. The Atlantic Sun was #12 in the RPI.
  12. Astros took Cameron at 37. Could be quite the draft for them if they are able to sign him.
  13. Alexei continues to look completely awful this year.
  14. Love that pick. Always nice to add another potential front of the rotation starter.
  15. Really poor location with the slider throughout this game by Jay. Was able to get away with those against Big 10 competition but that isn't going to work at higher levels.
  16. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Jun 7, 2015 -> 06:58 PM) Hopefully they don't have to play tomorrow night during the draft. Jay, Fulmer, Swanson, and Buehler will all go tomorrow night. 3:05 start time today. Jay on the mound for Illinois.
  17. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Jun 8, 2015 -> 11:02 AM) At one point in the 3rd Dellavedova went to the bench and Curry immediately hit a three. It was all during a little montage with JVG and Jackson reviewing all of Dellavedova's good defensive plays. As soon as the 3 went in, the camera panned to Dellavedova who screamed something like "that's because i'm on the bench!" Crazy opinion alert: maybe the Warriors and the West generally were significantly overrated this year? If GS was such a great team, how is Lebron + scrubs keeping this close? Other than rebounding, the Cavs are pretty bad at everything else. Having the best player in the world helps and even without Love and Irving they still have 3 point shooting and while they were a bad defensive team to start the year the Cavs became a very good defensive team after acquiring Mozgov, Smith and Shumpert and they have been playing fantastic defense in the playoffs. The Cavs have done a great job dictating tempo in this series as well and games 1 and 2 were both grind it out affairs which the Warriors would prefer not to get into (although they are certainly capable of winning).
  18. QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ Jun 7, 2015 -> 10:33 PM) I know what you're trying to say about LeBron being undermanned but let's not go overboard here. The GSW are far from a proven championship team with 5 HOFers like those 86 Celtics had...anyways, big win for the Cavs. Good to see LeBron being super aggressive and keep shooting the rock, FG% be damned. He's the best player in basketball, sometimes you gotta win ugly games like tonight. What's up with Curry, is he choking? Two overall bad Finals games so far. Curry was good in game 1. Shot 50% from the field and had 26 points. He was unbelievably terrible tonight though.
  19. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Jun 7, 2015 -> 10:03 PM) I saw that as well. If the Sox are one of these teams, I'd want Clark out of all of them. I doubt it will be and I'm not a big fan of going below slot this year when they don't have a second or third round pick.
  20. Cavs really getting the short end of the whistle here.
  21. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Jun 6, 2015 -> 10:16 PM) Duchene looked f***ing terrible vs Ohio too. He's not good or extremely nervous. His command has been really bad in the tournament and he has always been a guy who relies on control and has never had issues with that so he's likely either hurt or going through a dead arm period or he let the moment get the better of him. Either way the last couple of games will probably drop his draft stock. I had seen people thinking he could go as high as the 3rd round but I don't see it.
  22. QUOTE (daa84 @ Jun 6, 2015 -> 08:47 PM) horrendous call goes against Illinois on the run down. Kendall initiated the contact to draw the interference and got away with it Wouldn't have mattered since Duchene was awful tonight but man are college umps just brutal. Illinois needs to start Jay tomorrow and hope he shuts down Vandy and then basically pray for a a miracle on Monday.
  23. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 6, 2015 -> 07:47 PM) Might want to pull him. 12 base runners in less than 5 innings. Thankfully there is only one year left on that contract after this season.
  24. Carson Fulmer getting some ridiculous calls from the ump in that first inning. Illini should have had bases loaded. That 3-1 pitch to Goldstein wasn't anywhere close to being a strike.
