  1. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Feb 28, 2015 -> 08:39 PM) Rice is unbelievable What are your thoughts on Colbert? I see a little Warren Carter in his game. He is starting to look like a decent rotation piece going forward. Need to find a solid PG to run the show after Abrams leaves but the wing play will be good going forward and we are solid at PF. Hopefully one of the bigs can be passable at center as well.
  2. Illinois gets less calls at home right now than any team in the conference other than PSU.
  3. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Feb 28, 2015 -> 08:19 PM) He's done fine at KSU. Won their first conference title in a million years then followed it up with a tournament bid after everyone left them for dead. This year has been rough with the one of the biggest cancer in cbb Marcus Foster rearing his head but I guess they still have wins over KU, Iowa State and Oklahoma. Funny how Weber always seems to have cancers on his teams. He has done fine with Martin's players. The guys he has recruited haven't shown much ability other than Foster and who knows how long he will be at KSU.
  4. This should be a flagrant 1 but I'm going to be pissed if they call this after not calling Woodbury earlier.
  5. Ridiculous. Woodbury gets away with more bulls*** than any player I can remember.
  6. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Feb 25, 2015 -> 10:04 PM) OTOH, Iowa has committed 8 turnovers already, and is only 8/13 (61.5%) from the foul line, with Aaron White and Uthoff almost never giving up those opportunities. Jok and Woodbury have been beyond terrible. That sequence at the end of the first half is indicative of the entire game so far. Iowa could have extended the lead and the momentum, and, boom, it swung right back to Illinois because of a silly pass and not getting back on defense with their heads hanging. Gesell hasn't been healthy for 2-3 weeks, either, so Clemmons has become more important. With his wrist still hurting, Mike has no alternative but to drive or show from about 15-17 feet and in. Well Woodbury is just a beyond terrible player so that isn't surprising.
  7. How is that not an intentional on Woodbury? Never even came close to making a play on the ball.
  8. Sigh. That ball was clearly off Olaseni's foot and not remotely close.
  9. Adam Woodbury is f***ing terrible and he is a thug out there to. Leron Black has rightfully been called out by announcers at times this year but it is stunning that Woodbury hasn't been called out more for the bulls*** he pulls on the court.

    2015 TV Thread

I'm surprised the Walking Dead is already starting the Alexandria Safe Zone story line. Depending on how they handle this arc they will catch up to the comics within the next couple of seasons.
  11. Just an awful game by Nunn. Another great look that he missed.
  12. Terrible foul by Rice. No need to be reaching like that when it is a 1 possession game.
  13. Horrible defense by Illinois in the 2nd half. When Nairn is in the game don't even guard him until he shows he can make a shot. And when Dawson is in the mid-post just stay behind him. He has no post moves and he can't shoot. And after playing a great game at MSU Egwu has been horrible tonight. He is doing an absolutely dreadful job on the high ball screens.
  14. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Feb 20, 2015 -> 04:49 PM) Meh. Sometimes I feel like people get way too excited about transfers. Sure sometimes teams strike gold, but a lot of the time, there is a reason why the school is letting the kid transfer in the first place. It depends on the transfer. When it is a kid like Alex Legion who hasn't proven anything yet and wasn't productive at his prior stop there is a reason to be very skeptical. If it is someone moving up a level or down a level there is reason for skepticism. When you have a guy who was a proven player at the high major level there is no reason not to expect him to be productive.
  15. Aaron Cosby no longer with the Illinois basketball program. What an incredible disappointment. Two years of proven production at a major conference including a really strong sophomore year and he was horrible this year and didn't even make it through the season.
  16. QUOTE (SleepyWhiteSox @ Feb 16, 2015 -> 12:42 AM) He gets s*** for the 2 Finals losses with Miami, and rightfully so. He deserves criticism for the loss to the Mavericks. Last year he played really well against the Spurs and the Heat lost because they couldn't defend the Spurs at all. There's nothing LeBron could have done to change the result of that series.
  17. Wisconsin is the only really good team in the conference. Illinois was going to need an unreal effort to win that one and they just didn't shoot it well enough and didn't do enough on the defensive glass to get it done. Didn't help that Nunn was horrendous today.
  18. I'd like to see Illinois go big today. Don't play either Tate or Starks and go with a lineup of Rice/Nunn/Hill/Colbert/Egwu. Wisconsin doesn't pressure the ball and it would help us on the defensive end.
  19. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Feb 13, 2015 -> 12:17 PM) I was just going to say that. We have this discussion every year, just like the bubble is weak. Bubble teams are always mediocre with the expanded tournament. I just think college basketball is a really bad product right now other than the excitement of the NCAA tournament. The basketball being played around the country just isn't entertaining at all. Especially when you compare it to the NBA where the league is terrific right now and a lot of the teams are playing beautiful basketball.
  20. So can anyone think of another player who is as great of a free throw shooter as Jaylon Tate but that is also an absolutely horrendous jump shooter? I'm not sure I've ever seen anything like it. It is incredibly rare for guys who are fantastic free throw shooters to not also be good shooters but I can't think of any great free throw shooters who are terrible shooters.
  21. QUOTE (fathom @ Feb 12, 2015 -> 11:10 PM) Yep , Gonzaga is actually my favorite team to watch this year. They at least have scorers at every position. This season is probably the least I have watched in 25 years Even most of the top teams aren't that fun to watch. Kentucky is a fantastic team but I just don't enjoy watching them at all. Virginia plays really good basketball but I find them boring to watch.
  22. QUOTE (fathom @ Feb 12, 2015 -> 11:07 PM) The Big Ten is awful outside of Wisconsin and D. Russell. I blame Calipari for hogging all the talent. I'd say college basketball in general is awful this year outside of a handful of teams.
  23. QUOTE (Brian @ Feb 12, 2015 -> 11:07 PM) Only fair. Both teams gave a game away at others place. Michigan was never making tourney anyway. Yep. Results really should have been reversed. This was as dominating of an overtime as you will ever see.
