Admitting a Wrong: Kenny Williams vs Rick Hahn
zisk replied to Look at Ray Ray Run's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Sosa will be a fine hitter. TLR would only play him once every 3-4 days, and it's hard enough to adjust to the majors as it is. He hits the ball hard and he can play defense. Sosa 's also 22 years old and basically free. The Sox always trade guys who don't hit right away. Just ask Marcus Semien. -

Get rid of every one. If Jerry doesn't sell, he has to let his son take over. Let him pick a new exec. V.P. in charge of the whole damn thing. Then we'll know who to blame if we still suck in 2-3 years. I may be alone in thinking this, but we have enough talent to trade for what we don't have. We also have 2 position players in the minors who should be starting 2023 as regulars at 35th and shields(Sosa and Colas). The right manager and GM could fix this s%*# fast. -
Front office and TLR set the tone. Players responded with injuries and apathy. One of my favorite jokes: What's the difference between ignorance and apathy? I don't know and I don't care.

Is that Bobby Jenks or Benny Hill?

Yeah, but he's a better defender than Leury on the infield. I also said he's an insurance policy. He only plays 140 games if Sosa gets hurt and Rodriguez isn't ready. Leury is the guy who gets launched into the sun no matter what -

Bring Elvis back for insurance, but Sosa should really start at 2B. Give him 40-50 games to adjust, and he'll rake the rest of the year. Sosa is also a solid fielder. One guy who is being sold short is Burger. He really was our best hitter for quite a while even though he has less than 2 months in the majors. He did fine in the field as well, until that one horrendous game. He's a solid athlete with decent speed. I'd much rather see him play than Sheets or Pollock. It is also time for Andrew Vaughn at 1B. Jose has been great, but time catches up to every one. -
Romy has played almost 50 games this year. He must be exhausted. Most 26 year olds tire easily. Especially pro athletes.

Disagree. Like most elderly people, Tony has become a caricature of his former self. Little quirks become huge obsessions to most people as they reach old age. Fella, TLR has reached old age. He is no longer a competent manager. Any one who has watched his performance and can't see it, is being willfully blind. If this comment hurts your fellings, TOUGH S#$%.

Vlad Putin? Maybe.

8/31 GT: Sox vs. Royals - TLR Days Over???
zisk replied to ChiSox59's topic in 2022 Season in Review
My bad side keeps thinking about the wasted 2 years we can't get back. My good side hopes TLR gets better, but not better enough to return. -
He'll still be here until he pitches 3-4 good starts in a row next year. He's just lost his confidence. Gio might be too smart for his own good. Yogi used to say "quit thinkin', you're hurting the team. Not to change the subject, but Dylan Cease has a big write up today on 538.
-
If they do platoon, you'll have a big bat off the bench every game. I also believe Burger would be a better corner OF than Sheets. He's faster and actually has a good arm. He would also back up moncada on rest days.
-
If he does step down, I hope JR does too. Michael Reinsdorf has done a good job with the Bulls. He took the steps needed to get the team going again, including showing his dads pals the door.

I can't believe I'm saying this, but I think I hear KC's foot steps. If TLR is back next year we might finish last.

You know when TLR called Leury to go in to hit, Leury's first thought was Who? Me?- 305 replies

I'd even get excited is JR let his kid run the team. Rocky Wirtz watched his father and learned what not to do. Maybe MR would do the same. The only reason I mention this is because when you're 86 years old, it's tough to get excited about any thing. Selling the White Sox would take JRs last reason to get up in the morning away. If Michael were to take over it would still be in the family. And let's face it, Michael might make changes. I can't imagine JR ever changing anything.

It's Colas, Romy and Sosa time every body. I'd bring up some young pitchers too, if we had any. P.S. where is Jake Burger?
