  1. I was actually there with my friends that night. Was probably the only teenager mad about the whole thing. LOL
  2. probably a week in kanny, then to Chicago!
  3. I see you got a jump on the legal marijuana. He'll start in WS and move quickly. Peace out and 4/20
  4. Has any one noticed how well Yolmer is playing? He's been back at 2nd long enough to knock off the rust and it shows. Also showing some patience at the plate.
  5. watched a little Vaughn tape today. It's hard to drop the thick part of the bat on the ball with lift. He can do it in his sleep.
  6. He's ready for the bigs right now. If the Sox are going for it, Madrigal will be bumped up to AA in the next 7-10 days.
  7. As Mr. Burns once said: "release the hounds".
  8. He should spell it like that on his jersey.
  9. Just savoring the moment right now. Maybe our irrelevance might be ending. Starting pitching needs reinforcement. It is spelled CEASE!!!
  10. It's Cease time now. get his feet wet while we prepare for 2020. If LG is close to this(nobody is this good) going forward, we will compete next year. Damn the torpedoes!
  11. His twitter feed makes it sound like he's ready to play June 2nd. Either that or his favorite soccer team plays June 2nd. I couldn't tell which.
  12. interesting guy pitching for kanny today. Sam Long, 23 yrs. old reclamation project. Didn't pitch last year I'm assuming because of injury. Pitched well in 2017. This is one thing the Sox have done well at in the past. Pick some guy off the scrap heap and revive his career.
  13. It just dawned on me who Vaughn reminds me of. Steve Garvey with more patience. Garvey was an outstanding hitter who only looked really good because of dodger stadium robbing him or 5-10 homers a year. His only flaw was a lack of patience. He was also a real good 1st baseman, even at only 5'10".
  14. If Vaughn is good quickly, The line up might be: 1 Madrigal 6 Anderson 2 Robert 7 Burger/Collins 3 Jimenez 8 McCann/Collins 4 Vaughn 9 Leury/Gonzalez 5 Moncada Sox might score 1000 runs a year for a long time.
  15. The Sox should offer Kimbrel 25 million for the last 100 games. Tack on a 3 year option 15-20 million per. After that tell whoever he is traded to, they'll pick up this years salary and the new team can decide on the option. Kimbrel for free for 2 months is worth a better prospect than having to pay him.
  16. Solid defense at 2b,ss and cf. real good bench piece on a good team. Can pinch hit and pinch run. Replace a hit first type in late innings with a lead. i'd bet a lot of teams would want him. I think he's only 28, so will be productive for a while yet.
  17. No he is not. He's a youngish stiff. Engel is a middle aged stiff.
  18. Just checked the Twins roster. Will they hold up better than The South Side Hitmen? They will return to the norm some what, but can the Twins front office supplement the roster as needed? It's just my opinion but the difference between these 2 teams is defensive. The Sox had a CF who could play and a solid 3B,1B and catcher. The Twinkies seem to be a little deeper than that in the field. The SS Hitmen did hit for almost 3/4ths of the year, and the Twins will probably suffer the same fate. These guys are not the 1927 Yankees. Never the less, minnesotans are in for a fun summer.
  19. Maybe it's too early to tell about Tilson, but it sure looks like he's a MLB player. With Leury and McCann around also, the Sox could actually end up with a real bench. If we can get Palka or Collins to play a passable 1B, we might be ready to go in 2020.
