  1. I'd gladly pick sixth if we could knock the Cubs into second place this week end.
  2. I don't think he is as flawed as you think. In his minor league career he has always walked a lot and hit for a higher average. It wouldn't surprise me to see his OBP go up quite a bit next year. That being said, his home runs might turn back into doubles as well. Either way he's still a good offensive player. I totally agree about his flawed defense though. Maybe he should go play 1st base in the winter league.
  3. Why not center field?
  4. Good luck, we hope to see you back sooner than later. Some times investing emotionally in a team can be really tough.
  5. Not me. If benintendi was in that trade we would have gotten less. Basabe might end up being a special player.
  6. I'm sure it was. If they didn't say something, they wouldn't be doing their job. I said in another post that if I were in their shoes I'd ask RH if this has any thing to do with him being black. If you represent someone you have to do any thing you can to try and get it done. That way if it back fires, the agents can say it wasn't Eloys idea to ask.
  7. If his agents are serious, they should really ask RH in private if he's being held down at AAA because he's black. That could get things moving fast. Of course it could blow up in their face too. Nobody gets to pick the cards they are dealt. But playing the cards you get is OK by me.
  8. what a sorry bunch of pitchers.
  9. The last time I checked fatigue is not an injury. He simply hit a little wall and the Sox were taking precautions. He pitched 30+ more innings this year and will probably increase by a similar amount next season. The fastest way to improving at sports is by playing against superior players. Cease will undoubtedly do this in the majors. Not so much against mostly AAAA players found at Charlotte. It is my opinion that pitching 150-160 innings in the majors should lead to a smaller learning curve in 2020, and hopefully a pennant race that we might win.
  10. WRONG!! 22 starts. 9 starts with sox after being acquired july 13th. FAKE NEWS
  11. Lots of players skip AAA. I read That article about him today and it said his secondary stuff is better than Kopechs. If he starts strong next year then bring him up. He's 23 next year and hasn't had any injury problems in a long time. That would be a staff worth watching every night.
  12. He's also younger. I still don't understand why some one should be punished for dominating more quickly than his fellow team mate.
  13. The only question I have is why Kopech and not Eloy? There is no way you could argue MK was more dominant than EJ. On the contrary, Jimenez has dominated AAA since his first at bat.
  14. Having the best year by any position player not named Eloy. Statistically his defense is first rate, although I've never seen him play. He's been slightly older than some of our other prospects, but not old for his league. Just how good is this guy?
  15. Did anyone notice yet that Alex Call murders lefties? That might really help if Dan Palka ends up as our primary DH. The fact that he's a pretty good outfielder could be good too. Give your starting OF's a day at DH when a lefty is pitching.
  16. I heard that. Eloy and Kopech news is exciting , but the best news I've heard in the last 2 weeks Are Carlos Rodons starts. If he's finally healthy, our rotation could be really good really soon.
  17. I'm not sure about that. While he hasn't taken walks yet, he always has in the past. When ever most players are promoted, their bb/k rates usually crater for a bit and then start to recover. He's a little old and a horrific outfielder, but he may end up around .850 ops for 3-4 yrs. That would be a good thing.
  18. I hope we can hang on. The team has looked a little too feisty the last couple of nights. Maybe we can bench Abreu for a week (lack of hustle) until he cools off.
