  1. He might be in a market where Avi Garica is getting 4 years, and Leury is getting 3 years. I really believe there is value in his contract only being one year.
  2. I have also been obsessed with making sure I am the one who sees a trade/signing announcement firsthand after having a Cubs fan walk up to me at work and casually dropping, “bro, I can’t believe the Sox traded Chris Sale.” Of course, this was during the first time I worked for ten minutes straight that month. I will never make that mistake again. The last two weeks, I won’t open a text message from any of my friends without checking here first. That Jon Heyman tweet announcing Leury Legend for three years just hits different.
  3. They really screwed over the pitchers midseason by bringing back the bouncy balls while simultaneously heavily enforcing a “sticky” substance ban. Who knows how different the grip was on the “new” baseballs as well.
  4. Hopefully it provides some entertainment during this impending dark, directionless time in our lives.
  5. From what I’ve read, they can discuss trades and probably “handshake” agree to them, but they cannot actually complete any trades officially.
  6. I just posted something similar before I made it to yours. This whole thread is baffling.
  7. Something fishy is going on here, guys.
  8. I don’t buy any of the Mets/Scherzer stuff. The delivery of all the writers is odd.
  9. That would be funny if the Sox signed Scherzer tonight.
  10. Or say they went with a different “prospect” last minute. I just find it funny the only name he’s saying now is a name no one cares about on either side. Doesn’t make for a very “juicy” rumor.
  11. Portillos that out of touch to make Moniak a focal point of a trade rumor?
  12. I know I’d like to look at Ray run in those spandex.
  13. Has anyone here completed a trade yet? Struggling with this patience concept.
  14. I get the impression the White Sox had just about zero interest in signing Escobar to be their primary 2B, especially for multiple years.
  15. I believe there is where most of Kimbrel’s value is. A team can acquire an (arguably) elite closer for a “win-now” season without handing out a large multi-year deal. They also would not have to get into a monetary bidding war with another team. If the team has expendable resources, they can simply acquire Kimbrel for one season at a predetermined salary.
  16. Edit: Oops. I guess that’s one way to fix my typo.
  17. I was able to watch him slappa da ball a little tonight while I had on the replay of the Rodon no-hitter.
