Is this actually 4 weeks minimum? 4-6 weeks caught me off guard. Hoping there’s some successful quicker recovery stories. This lineup is drastically weaker without Eloy in the middle. And Jake isn’t there to replace some of that power this time. This blows.

Right after the 3-run HR, first time I’ve voluntarily turned off the game this season. Can’t believe I made it that long. But now I’m here. Lord, help us all.

Guessing it is his 59 OPS+ for the year and .407 OPS over the last 14 days. I can’t imagine he is up for much longer.

I understand just fine, and I agree with your point in theory. I love Abreu, and have a ton of respect for him as a person and player. But if last year’s team performance was any indication of how this year would play out, the ship was already sinking with Jose on it. He could not do anything to stop it, and you saw it on his face every damn game. Combine that with his production this year, and he would be nothing more than part of the problem. And completely miserable. I agree the Sox should have replaced him with a superstar. They should have replaced him with three. I wish a big part of the issue was as simple as Abreu. Unfortunately, I don’t think he even moves the needle on this team.

This team would look exactly the same with Abreu’s .576 OPS. Only difference is José would be a lot sadder than he is right now with the Astros.

Yeah, well maybe I should have said “new” words. I’d rather not turn into the crazy guy standing on the street corner yelling the same thing at every person who walks by. Not saying that’s you, but be careful, man.

Yes, which was my point. I can no longer find words to describe what’s going on. It’s gone way past any way I can describe this.

Berrios blows. If we cannot jump all over him and put up enough runs to hold off 12 walks from the White Sox pitching, we are never winning another game again.

This current state of ownership/front office attempting to execute a rebuild is the stuff nightmares are made of. I don’t even want to think about this any longer. Thinking about this current team is basically “happy thoughts” in comparison.

And as we have witnessed first-hand, other teams actually swing at those pitches right down the middle. They also hit them in fair territory, and generally pretty hard. Quite the concept.

Anyone else notice on the slow motion replay of that double down the line, how long it took Jake to begin moving towards the ball?

It wasn’t even a good fight. No way anyone was injured by any of the “punches” thrown. Looked like most of the damage was done by the momentum of their own bodies and the ground. That in mind, I would be pissed if I was sitting with my five year old son in that proximity. I am not a prude and I know “fights” happen, but time and place, man. Unfortunately, these are people who probably never consider the time and place with any of their behavior.

Will they play tonight?
