Oscar Colas Story (Is this true?)
Polar Bear replied to Look at Ray Ray Run's topic in Pale Hose Talk
This is about right. As an older prospect his progression should have been almost identical to (if not faster than Cesar Prieto). A+ for a couple weeks to a month to shake off the rust. If he hit just average there (he hit well above average) he should have been promoted to AA. After being at AA for another month (depending on his performance) he should have been promoted to AAA. He then should have been at AAA for the remainder of the season unless he was doing great, at which point a callup to the bigs would be warranted (only if he was doing great at AAA). This isn't a prospect, this is closer to the equivalent of say a Seiya Suzuki than a 18 year old Cuban (which is how they are treating him). For his skill and age, Colas should have been spending most of the season at AAA if he did well at AA, or AA if it was more of a challenge. The Sox are treating him like he is an 18 year old Cuban thats only played in the DSL which is an absolute joke. -

It's literally the only explanation. Sox probably don't want to move either off of CF and aren't sending Cespedes down to A+. Thus Colas stays at A+ since Cespedes is already at AA. It's the way the Sox work. -

It's not. In April he hit .301. Thats more than enough rust shaken off and he should have been promoted then. In May he dealt with injuries and only played in 11 games. In June he has now hit almost .400 with 14 hits in his last 7 games. He is far too advanced to be in A+, thats not a question. The Sox refusal to promote him is undoubtedly centered around who is manning CF in AA and his struggles. Colas should have been manning CF in AA in early June. -

Bc the original post was 99.9% accurate. His Instagram had all posts about the white sox or Winston Salem deleted except for 2. Some random image and one which started off by showing him i believe at a hockey game then flipped to a highlight from spring training. His profile picture was even changed to a red circle. Then later that night Colas was not in the WS lineup. Today its all back as well as his profile pic is back. Something is clearly up. He is actually live on instagram now (not that I can tell what he is saying) -

The Sox do have some very promising guys in the system. Its just been a mismanagement of a few that wreck the things as a whole. Borrero and Quezada are the next crop of young guys that I'm excited about. I just hope they don't mess them up like other in past. -

You can see that the Sox organization is an absolute joke with player development Cesar Prieto and Oscar Colas were signed at 23 years old. Both decided to forfeit almost all of their contract to come stateside right away. Both being older were almost assuredly under the impression that if they were able to perform well that they would be on a faster track to the majors then other prospects. Both Prieto and Colas were raking at A+ for the first month. At that time the Baltimore Orioles promoted Prieto to AA. The Sox chose to keep Colas down, why, no reason why. A+ was solely intended to let both players shake off the rust and get used to American baseball and a routine. Its not been a month past when Prieto was promoted to AA. Colas is still at A+ and continuing to rake. Then comes Colson Montgomery who raked at A ball to a similar tune that Colas was doing at A+. Colson gets promoted to A+ while Colas is still forced to stay at A+. Then we have the Lenyn Sosa situation as he gets promoted from AA to the bigs while Colas is still stuck at A+ The Sox fucked up if this is the root cause of a perceived rift. Nothing surprising bc the guys running the organization at every position are straight trash. Colas should have been promoted a month ago plain and simple. -

Petition to make Johnny Cueto our hitting coach

Cueto had the balls to say what we have all known for a long time now. Stop hitting the ball on the ground and to the opposite field -

This better not be bc Colas was ready to be promoted a while ago but the Sox have refused -

Leury playing yet again and in the outfield again.... -
Yeah thats the smart move. Put a 2B in for your 1B playing RF. Fire this trash manager. Fire the GM. Fire the hitting coach. Fire the pitching coach. Hire anyone who knows actual baseball
-
Sheets and Pollock would be done for the year if they tried this. The only players on the team that could pull it off were Robert and Engel
-
Disagree Vaughn is pretty good and might be the 2nd or 3rd best on the team (still not good but at least better than everyone else)
-
Fire fuckikg TLR already. The 1B playing the outfield just cost the Sox 2 runs bc he doesn't know how to catch a damn ball
