  1. We win if we can keep be patient and make Greene throw strike and down. If we chase and chase the high stuff we are doomed
  2. That means nothing as Hahn did not have any say so for a number of years and even today has no real power as everything is determined by JR and KW
  3. Except we are facing their top 3 pitchers (2 of which are legit, Greene and Lodolo) while we have our worst pitching (Lynn and Clev)
  4. Unfortunately a number of those guys are KW's guys and not Hahn's. Shields, Samardzija, Dunn, Laroche etc are all KW guys.
  5. You mean when the ball didn't bounce correctly and skipped off the wet ground on him....no one plays that ball perfectly The other one he did drop. So what, he has made numerous good plays out there. Sheets made 3 errors on one play and fell on his face in RF Romy dropped a routine flyball There is no question who the starting RF is/should be. Sitting Colas a few games vs tough pitchers is not a bad idea. Don't read too much into it just yet, if it continues then we have a problem
  6. Colas is where is needs to be. The team just needs to not have blinders on with Sheets. He has faceplanted in the field twice already this season and cost the team big both times. Sheets should only play once or twice a week at most. Colas has had a good two games in a row now at the plate. He is finally making the adjustments to the pitchers adjustments. This is the point in a prospects career that he must continue to play. Anything else will either stunt or break a prospect
  7. This has been the start I have had circled for Michael Kopech since the start of ST. Beginning a little behind and with the recovery needed from his injuries last season, it was expected for him to be up and down through April. Now is the time for him to get rolling Kopech has shown good signs of a breakout lately so this start will be vital to whether or not he takes that next step forward. He will probably be facing a heavy lefty lineup so the changeup will need to be thrown close to the zone to keep em off balance Kopech has only thrown really one changeup anywhere near the zone this year so unless he focuses on it, he will need his A stuff with the fastball and slider. When all else fails he will have to trust the fastball and let it rip An overly ambitious prediction for today's start for Michael Kopech will be 5 IP, 4 H, 1 BB, 3 ER, 8 K
  8. Colas is being mismanaged but thats nothing new. He needs to be given an opportunity to adjust like most all rookies get (except in the white sox organization) He started off good, pitchers adjusted, now instead of being given an opportunity to match the pitchers they have decided to play Sheets who gives us nothing and makes us a s%*# fielding team. He will get in there again and be given a chance to adjust (its also not like he is doing bad comparatively (He is on par with 90% of the roster currently including Eloy, Robert, Andrus, etc.) Could be the cold or even the elite teams we have played. Wait until we play crap teams instead of the best of the best over and over
  9. Id love to see them just try it for a week and see. Unfortunately its what should happen but what won't happen.
  10. I was legitimately worried that he was toast based on the posts I was reading after that last start. Just listen to me and not the residents of insane asylum lol.
  11. Lol. Kopech had some great (elite at times) stuff today. Before the rain Kopech was up to 97, had big movement on the fastball, tight breaking balls and a killer changeup. Once the rain hit, Kopech lost the spin on the breakers and the fastball didn't have the late life. The changeup was elite and only got better as the game went on. This outting was a win for Kopech as it showed him what the changeup can do and built up the strength (as well as may have exposed him tipping pitches). Now he comes out in his next start and makes adjustments, its called baseball
  12. And to add to this. They aren't gonna use one of their limited (like 5 times per player) call ups for 1 game.
  13. Its 1 game. 1 game of Davis Martin is still no worse than Kopech and too top that off, extended ST has trash not MLB caliber hitters. You guys are the same ones that would be screaming for the Rangers to cut Degrom after his first start lmao
  14. Except they had him miss a turn for whatever reason. So while most all SPs in baseball got 5 starts and around 20ish innings, Kopech had 4 and only 12 innings. So in general Kopech is now built up to about where everyone else was to start the season And for Kopech coming back from an offseason surgery, he will probably need another start or 2 until he gets dialed in. 3rd or 4th week of April should be where Kopech has his put up or shut up games. Personally I think by then he will be putting up big numbers and shutting up some fans that are already calling for the hook
  15. 1. This was the equivalent of Kopech's final ST start so there is no need for knee jerk reactions 2. Kopech showed some great stuff early before the rain and had a good looking changeup that got better as the game went on 3. For coming off offseason surgery and a late start to ST, Kopech looks right on track as long as he continues to show improvement 4. At least two of the HR's were good pitches in the called location but SF just put a better swing on it 5. It's start 1 of hopefully 32, Kopech will be just fine and even more so if the velocity comes back to him as the knee gets stronger the further away from surgery he gets
  16. Id hope Romy at 2nd for the home opener while the rest stays the same
