TOR starters are only available if they are about to get expensive or are on bloated contracts. I don't see them making a shift to become a perennial top 10 payroll team which they would have to be to make signing Machado worth their while.
One 7 War player and it's not even close. 2-3 WAR players are ubiquuitous, 7 WAR players are once a generation type talents. WAR doesn'T work on such a linear scale btw.
Exactly. However, two generational talents being available without competition from the usual big spenders is a gift from the heavens that will take pressure off the prospects to perform. Signing Machado would make Hahn's job so much easier.
If Machado signs for 8/250, the Sox were never serious to begin with.
