  1. We have major positions of need and only one can seemingly be solved via free agency (right field, second base, starting pitcher (unless we're thinking Kershaw or greinke)). That seems like a problem. Either a problem with use of resources, or lack thereof. Still in the bottom ten of top contracts given out. Plenty of offseason left to work with, but these common themes are annoying
  2. Con O For was a 0.8 war player last year
  3. I agree that over the course of their careers conforto has been better defensively, but I was specifically referencing the last year. Overall conforto has proven to be the better defensive player, but last year he wasn't good and defense isn't a valid reason to sign him over schwarber
  4. cali I was referring to Southside2k, not you. You have clearly demonstrated the ability to use the internet
  5. I have to hold your hand through the point of everything don't I? The point is, if you used google and went on to baseball references website, and did a little bit of scrolling and looking at "Standard Fielding", the numbers under Fielding Percentage, RDRS, and RTOT would back up what I have said. It takes all of one minute to do that, while it would take much more time for me to look at all those numbers and do a side by side comparison on sox talk. And I don't care enough about the discussion to do anything remotely close to that. I can tell you are over the age of 35 and don't quite understand the state of the internet, but this is how it works. Do your own research and fact check me if you think I'm wrong (I'm not the numbers are right in front of me) and come here and post about why I'm wrong
  6. googling or using baseball reference hard for you?
  7. google is one tab over he's a big boy who can look at the numbers and interpret them himself. I want to hear his opinion on them, not a reflection of mine. Dunce
  8. The general standard fielding numbers that are right there. Im referring to fielding percentage, rtot, rdrs, etc.
  9. In the message you quoted? look at their stats on BR
  10. no excuses for the front office anymore. I've been rough on them, but it's alleviating to finally see what they can do with a top payroll
  11. bref and baseball info. That's understandable, conforto has much more range than schwarber, but we have the best defensive center fielder in the league. Conforto has a complete noodle for an arm. Schwarber can throw guys out. Usually I'm on the side of range, but in the context of our team I think we could live with a guy with limited range. And the defense isn't a good enough reason to argue for conforto over schwarber's hitting ability
  12. baseball reference and baseball info solutions has conforto graded way worse than schwarber
  13. I don't hate con o-for, but I don't see how him being our "prize" (as some have suggested he would be if signed) of the offseason moves us any closer to a championship. Especially because he will most likely be overpaid for what he is.
  14. Don't understand why defense would be the reason to sign conforto over schwarber. Conforto's defense is awful. Worse than Schwarber's last year
  15. Cishek believes the trade market for kimbrel has heated up and that a trade will materialize by the first.
  16. All love and passion here from sox fans and they did. They couldve easily messed up the rebuilding trades and they didn't. They totally get the credit for the roster they've built and the staff they put in place to develop. Im highly worried they just wont be able to correctly supplement the current roster. They've only left a few holes after the rebuild as well I'll give them that. I don't want them to be fired I like Kenny and rick, they could just use more analytical employees for MLB evaluations. IIRC they are lacking in the sabremetrics department (probably because of the chairman).
  17. prior to trading valuable assets for relief pitching. An incredibly volatile position
