This would shock me. Like Y2J says, they already carry the new station's predecessor. How hard would it be to agree to new terms? Yeah because its not going to be a channel at all anymore. The thought of the majority of people needing to get the channel over the antenna is bonkers to me. That's just not how most people watch TV in 2024. Live sports is keeping old school TV and cable alive. How could there not be a deal in place for a channel showing 3 of the 5 professional teams in the 3rd largest market in the country?

Instead I get to read Getz/KC Royals and "he never should have been hired" comments for the 10,000th time. I have it all memorized. In about 2 more pages, we'll get all the rest of the classics... you'll talk about roster churn and panic and whitesox2023 will bring up how we missed out on Luke Keaschall. Then there will be 10 pages between you guys and westeddy arguing over whether Getz "should have known" Robert, Eloy, and Moncada would have all been injured at the same time at the start of the season... Someone will chime in to say Kopech is pitching well for the Dodgers. Caulfield will write a post in multiple font sizes referencing Jose Valentin, Ivan Caulderon, James Baldwin and Tyler Saladino. My favorite one is when half of you will argue Seby Zavala was bad and an indictment of Chris Getz' development ability but the other half will argue Getz fucked up by not bringing Seby Zavala back at minimum salary.

I clicked on this topic excitedly so I could read 6 pages of insight into the international scouting department. Instead, I got the same "Getz sucks" crap I've been seeing for 10 months. Should have known.

Reminder: A couple months ago we had like a 10 page thread where people said trading some guy named Luis Rodriguez (that no one had ever heard of) for Corey Julks was a fireable offense for Getz. More recently, there are people jizzing over Luke Keaschall just because we didn't trade for him. In this thread, we have the same people that relentlessly mocked WestEddy for crediting the Sox with developing Seby Zavala's defense switch to praising Zavala's defensive value. Some are accusing Getz of forcing Rick Hahn and Kenny Williams (!) to hire Pedro Grifol while at the same time claiming Jerry picks all the managers. There are a million things to criticize the Sox about. Minor moves made by Chris Getz in his first 10 months as a GM in a season where he inherited a s%*# team and needed to cut payroll is pretty far down the list.

Rick Hahn always gets a pass. Every bad decision he made is reported to have been made against his will. He has great PR.

Its weird that they didn't announce the interim manager in the same press release. Typically it would be done at the same time, no? Does that mean its something outside the box and it will be a separate announcement? Or just weird white sox way of doing things?

I also love the idea of Dan Proft listeners clutching their pearls, demanding absolute civility, and holding a goofball local sportsradio producer to the highest standards of decorum.

And then Proft exploited his dead mother by continuously bringing it up for like 2 months trying to start a radio feud and had his nutjob followers try to cancel them. It was one of the dumbest Chicago media stories ever. A week after my mother died, I had a coworker absentmindedly say "Your mom" to me in jest. I shrugged it off because it was obvious he didn't know/forgot. I didn't run around and tell everyone and try to get him in trouble. Dan Proft is a total douchebag. The fact that people would all of a sudden start defending Grifol because the messenger was in a silly twitter beef with that loser is insane to me. Edit: I'm pretty sure at one point, Proft was trying to accuse Riordan of necrophilia as if that's what he meant by that dumb joke.

And David Kaplan, a host on a rival station, said he heard the same things from people in the clubhouse. Why would he do that if it wasn't true? White Sox PR and John "We are just catching teams at the wrong time" Schriffen are the truth tellers now.

He's not a reporter. I don't know. He doesn't regularly "break news." He is the executive producer and has relationships with people from every team and a ton of current and former players. When Chris Getz gets named GM and gives an interview with Parkins and Spiegel, how do you think that happens? He just calls into the regular hotline until he gets thru? The Score has also been the radio home of both teams in town and these guys work closely with the teams. He has sources, thats not debatable... and the story itself is incredibly believable. Why would he make it up? I doubt more people are listening because they said players got disgusted with Grifol. If he was going to make up some story, wouldn't it be more flashy or shocking? I also heard David Kaplan say he heard the same thing as Shane Riordan. Is Kaplan lying too?

I don't even know what tabloid radio station even means. Its a sports talk radio station. Its what they do. That report wasn't sensationalist or anything.... hell, Soxtalk spent much more time talking about Tim Anderson's affairs than I ever heard on 670. Is this a tabloid website?
