  1. Honestly I don't know why anyone is surprised or would have expected anything different.
  2. Nothing like hoping for a drunk driving accident. That's what you're doing here right?
  3. Ignoring everything else here, do you really believe that these two are remotely close?
  4. This apparently will be an unpopular opinion, but if I were in Hahn's shoes, I would pick up the option and try to trade Kimbrel. I think there will be a market for him. Would he get 16M on the open market this year? No probably not, but he wouldn't sign for 1 year either, and that has value. Teams always need relievers, and closers. Maybe someone will spot the difference between how he was for the Sox and Cubs and think they'll fix him. Maybe people will chalk it up to him being a reliever. I know there are a lot of "ifs" in there, but I would roll the dice on someone taking a chance on him. If the Sox pick up any of the money, they'll be able to get something pretty good in return. I would guess there would be a lot of teams in on him at like a 12M price tag.
  5. This is all true. It doesn't mean that Grandal isn't terrible as well.
  6. Didn't he say or at least imply that he hated the front office stuff he had done in the past and wanted to be on the field? I guess I could be imagining that too...
  7. So, is it your contention that going Giolito, Cease, Lynn would have changed things? They would have magically pitched better? They still only scored 5 runs in the 2 games. The offense played poorly. The bullpen pitched poorly. This is squarely on the players.
  8. Blaming LaRussa seems like a way to justify how you feel about him. It wasn't his game plan that caused Lynn to suck. Or Giolito. Or Cease, or Rodon. He sure didn't do a perfect job. But the players pretty much sucked all the way around. No amount of managing swag could have overcome that.
  9. Man, please, don't do this to yourself...
  10. Just serve the suspension and get it over with.... on an unrelated note, the guy I'm playing in my fantasy baseball championship has Tim...
  11. Man, this got me looking at their numbers, I didn't realize that Yoan has pretty dramatic home/road splits. Like he has 2 HR on the road all season. And his OPS is 130 point lower.
  12. Man, all I did was say that I was gonna agree with you. I didn't want you all worked up. My bad chief.
  13. Boy, he has gotten more guys to swing at his pitches that aren't strikes????? What a bum!
  14. I get it, you're really smart. And I'm not. I don't want to feel like a dufus, so I'm just gonna stay with the basics that my brain can comprehend. He has pitched better. He has looked better. He has allowed fewer hits and fewer walks. He is striking out a decent amount of dudes. I'm not saying he should start opening day. I'm saying he deserves consideration. This was make or break year for him. He rose to the occasion. Tip of the cap to him.
  15. Shit I didn't know Ray would disagree with me. I'm just gonna go with what he says.
  16. I think yes. He has been really good. Who knows, maybe something has clicked. And while it isn't a huge sample size for this year, it isn't miniscule anymore either. His BB/9 has been an astounding improvement. He is attacking, and trusting his stuff, which looks great.
  17. That's crazy! Hahah! Where were you? Maybe we walked by each other. We were in Positano, Rome, Tuscany, and Venice. It was pretty amazing. What an absolutely gorgeous country.
  18. I could get on against Kimbrel right now, even if I went into the box without a bat. He has no chance of throwing 3 strikes before he throws 4 balls.
  19. I was on my honeymoon in Italy during the blackout game. Now I have 3 great kids and we are about to celebrate our 13th anniversary. Also on the plus side, still have my hair, and I'm only a little bit fatter. At least that's what I tell myself.
