  1. Not saying that Collins is better. Right now he isn't, but Grandal has been just plain awful this year. And through his age 25 season, like Collins, Grandal had been pretty bad (though he had shown signs of the player he has become). Grandal needs to play and needs to get himself worked out, but regardless of his production, his contract will keep him in the lineup. At least for a while.
  2. Impossible not to pull for him. I really hope he does well. I don't know if he has a spot with the Sox, just with his position, but I sure hope he makes it.
  3. Only Gen Xers and old millennials will get this!
  4. Scherzer and Hand would be a nice package deal. Send Lopez back to Washington? That should be enough right?
  5. Too bad the Sox didn't have a game today. It would have been a nice midday distraction.
  6. Man. I was hopeful to get over .500 today. Maybe Lucas thought it was a regular afternoon game...
  7. Well, I for one, think you are 2 of the best posters on this site. But then again, I'm becoming an old man too. I remember watching the olden days with Wilson Alvarez twirling a no -no before this Rodon chap was born.... Ugh, that fact did make me feel really old. Haha.
  8. You either have a terrible memory, or have no idea what results to expect from a back end- middle- or front end starter.
  9. It would have had to have been way more than that. There was literally no reason for the Brewers to trade him unless they were absolutely blown away. He is young, under control and was a top Cy Young finisher. Why would any team, much less a small market cost conscious team trade a player like that? I have a hard time believing that he or Woodruff were ever really available. I don't doubt the Sox asked, but I don't think there was ever a legitimate chance the Brewers were going to trade either.
  10. The thing that concerns me the most is his defense. He just doesn't make the plays a big league 2B needs to make. I don't know how long this can be attributed to jitters. It isn't even that he doesn't make the great plays. He often doesn't make the regular plays. It is frustrating and he is costing his pitchers.
  11. While this may be true, I think there were some extenuating circumstances last year. This also is more disappointing for the Sox, as Keuchel and Lynn were supposed to be horses that went deeper into games and saved the pen for the games where they will be predictably needed. The starting pitching has been, like just about every other aspect of the beginning of this season, a tremendous disappointment.
  12. Yeah, seems too risky for the Sox, I see them drafting Gavin Sheets again instead.
  13. Man. I wish anyone here would have supported Yermin. Apparently he's a dude that can hit.
