  1. I'm curious if you read the article you posted. So basically, people are sending less mail. So fewer machines are needed. And in terms of this impacting the election... Doesn't really seem like a dire situation.
  2. And as for the topic at hand. Tatis Jr. seems like he will be a truly great player. It sucks for the Sox, but I think he will be great for baseball. What a player. It'll be hard to watch him without any trace of "what could have been", but I still enjoy watching him.
  3. Ahhhh. So you get Manny, then he brings in Alonso. Rats. Had it backwards.
  4. Yo Mama jokes = 20 game suspension. Not hitting a guy with a pitch and making faces = 8 game suspension. Stealing a World Series = 0. Apparently MLB is only worried about policing school yard style behaviors. Manfred remains a joke.
  5. DFA- ing Flores would have been much worse in my opinion. He has actually had success in the upper minors, and he is a LHP that is close to contributing. I don't understand why anyone would advocate cutting him instead.
  6. I don't think this is fair. He hasn't demonstrated a screw covid mentality. Unless I misunderstand, he just thinks many more people have already had it.
  7. Huh, so are you saying that we shouldn't believe what every random twitter handle says? That's weird.
  8. Dave Wills was the standard to which all Sox fans should aspire.
  9. Hahaha! Did that happen??? That's amazing. I also hate Swisher, so I'm all in on this.
  10. Maybe they are in an abusive household. Maybe the kid is prone to get into trouble if left alone. If you honestly can't think of any reasons, it is because you don't want to.
  11. I think they're keeping the lid on a nearly done deal for deGrom.
  12. Good grief. I can't choose and I don't want to. And I'm ever so happy I don't have to. I hope to see these guys on the Sox for a looooong time. They're ALL freaking bosses. I love how Eloy just plain mashes. And doesn't even pull the ball. He just murders it. Yoan is a great on D, and such a great refined hitter, while also being savagely dangerous. Robert does it all. His ABs are great appearance to appearance. For such a new, young hitter, he adjusts AB to AB. He is mashing without the benefit of even seeing fastballs. He steals bases with complete ease, and his speed will allow him to run out routine grounders. And he makes all the plays. I certainly don't think the Sox have had such a dynamic trio, at least not that I can remember. They had lineups with great young hitters, with Maggs, Lee and Konerko basically all coming up together. Those guys obviously could all really really hit, but they weren't the rounded players (at least with Yoan and Robert -- maybe Eloy fits in well with this group.). The closest I think is probably the early 90s, when they have Frank and Ventura come up basically together, along with Fernandez, Alvarez and Bere. Much different, but obviously some great talent there. The scary thing is, these guys could be better. Holy moly.
  13. Yoan also got rung up about 50 times on pitches that weren't strikes.
  14. I wouldn't be surprised. He hasn't proven much. He hasn't shown that he can hit the AA level, and the organization clearly feels that guys like Miker, Rutherford and Luis Gonzalez are ahead of him. This may also be an indication that someone like Cespedes or Colas is as good as done. The nice thing here is that 2 of the OF spots are spoken for for a long time. Though depth is always nice to have, it is a bit of a puzzling move.
  15. This is what I was thinking. The DFA must be separate right? It wasn't required for bringing the Lail up? Edit: They had to DFA someone for a 40 man spot.
  16. I was at that game! It was amazing. Until the World Series, it was the most electric I'd ever felt the stadium.
