  1. Additional good news is that on 3/31 and 4/1 the positive tests were about level and yesterday they went down.
  2. Just to play devil's advocate, that plan, you know, didn't work too well for Mr. Lincoln. (Please don't take this too seriously, it was completely meant in jest...)
  3. Yeah, that seems most likely. But the lie is an odd choice when it arguably makes you look worse than if you told the truth. What a moron.
  4. I loved that pairing. Rooney is magnificent, and Ed was so great as the analyst. I loved when he got into the pitchers mindset, I learned a lot about baseball strategy from Ed.
  5. How the hell is this possibly real? Has this idiot had his head up his butt for months? I'm an idiot and I've known that for months. WTF?!?!?
  6. Terrible news. Growing up, we didn't have cable so we listened to games. Every night. Ed has been part of the soundtrack of my life for nearly 30 years. Listening to him while playing backyard ball, at the dinner table and every time I was in the car. It won't be the same with out him. Rest in Peace, Ed. Turn on the fireworks!
  7. Probably to some degree, but if 950 people had it and 5k didn't, and that was the same as yesterday, it would seem to at least indicate a similar rate, unless there were 12k people tested yesterday.
  8. I don't agree with this at all. It probably isn't even close (for example, maybe, the CIvil War?) I do however, agree with everything else in your statement, including the sentiment.
  9. Well the good news (if you can call it that) is that is basically the same increase as yesterday. At least we aren't growing exponentially.
  10. I saw that he was donating $1000 to each of the Rangers minor leaguers. Cool move. Tip of the cap to you sir.
  11. JB has been pretty good. He also moved forward with the election as planned, that was an odd choice after making the other moves.
  12. Cool. So just throw out uninformed BS. That seems like the best course of action.
  13. I have found it very funny, that where most types of pasta have been gone, there always seems to be fettuccine.
  14. Hey thanks. I'm not at all. I didn't vote for him and can't see voting for him this time. Thanks though. Sorry not completely digesting what the DNC tells me incomprehensible. I have criticized his response several times. You need to work on your reading comprehension. I completely agree, and have several times, with everything that is bolded. So I guess that makes you a trumpkin too.
  15. Ok, I agree with your first point completely. Their response did not match what they were saying at all. That should have been red flags all over the place. And I'm not sure you case lists will hold up. Japan basically pretended it didn't exist until the Olympics were cancelled, then all of a sudden "Oh no cases explode!". That seems fishy to me. They're response was to do pretty much nothing until like 3 days ago. Indonesia had like zero (reported) cases until last week. India seems to just be getting into the growth stage. I'm going to wait and see before saying any of those countries have done a better job. These countries have no doubt done a good job. The obvious difference to me is populations. It isn't an excuse, as we should have done a better job, but it is easier to test a significant portion of your population when your population is less than 10 million, or even 1 million in some of those cases.
  16. Not sure why you quoted me. None of this has anything to do with what I said.
  17. Who is doing that? OK some are, I'm certainly not. I have said several time that the failure to be prepared and to have more wide scale testing was a huge blunder. 1) Not what I said. You missed the point. 2) I don't think the extent of it was that obvious. If it was, there would have been more of a response throughout the world. Preparing in the way you mention would have absolutely been the right call and would have absolutely saved lives. Looking back, it is terribly obvious. But if you take Monday morning QBing out of it, maybe the response wasn't obvious. The proof seems to be in the way that everyone no one, other than South Korea responded in that way. If the solution was so clear it would have been adapted by more countries. 3)Never said that. Never pretended that. 4) South Korea, ok. Who else? Plenty... don't know if that's the right word. You're right, though. That is the standard we should expect. The response through February (and into March) was terrible. But it was that way for the whole world. So maybe it wasn't as You can ignore the rest of the world if you want. But I've always thought that context matters.
  18. No it isn't. We got here because there was a new virus that emerged in China, likely spread from wet markets. Infected people traveled all over the world before it was known, and it was likely covered up for a while, increasing the spread. Then no one knew the severity of the issue. Now it has spread across the globe. I know it is the trendy thing to jump on Trump and blame him because of his bluster and his general dis-likability, But, in case you haven't noticed, basically the same situation is playing out everywhere. South Korea is the only country that seems to have handled this well. Even Germany, who is also getting praised for their response, is at 10 deaths per million in population. Right now the US is at 12. Now, that number is sure to rise, on both counts, and has risen in the last few days. South Korea is at 3 for reference. Italy and Spain are about 200. France is over 50. The UK at 35. Trump downplaying the disease had nothing to do with the response in those countries. No one knew. Really until Italy crashed, no one knew how bad this was going to be. Comments like the above don't help anything and are overly simple and just finger pointing. It doesn't acknowledge the truth of how we got here. There were plenty of people from all parts of the political spectrum that dismissed this. And plenty of people from all over the political spectrum that have disregarded the suggested measures to stop the spread.
  19. Annnnnd none of those things are really comparable to any of the other things.
  20. Anyone else doubt China only had 80k some cases of this? Not sure I trust their numbers.
  21. That's great. I have to say, when my wife first got them I was kind of dismissive like "whatever workout videos are for old ladies in the 80s". But these workouts are no joke.
  22. Not sure if you have ever heard or tried them, but I have recently been doing workout from the p90x and insanity series. (They each have shortened workouts (p90x30 and t25) that are a half hour and 25 minutes respectively, short, but great workouts.) and for the most part require very little equipment. Really free weights or resistance bands are the only things, and even if you don't have those, you can avoid those certain workouts and still get some great exercise. It may not be perfect, but they are darn good. And I have to say, they push you a little and I have gotten better results than I ever did going to the gym. It may be something to look into.
