  1. Based on what? I don't want to tear down Frank, but his prime, as mentioned was 91-97. 7 seasons. Mays had 13 straight seasons without having an OPS lower than .924. He also never played fewer than 151 games in that stretch. 4 times in that stretch he hit more homers than Frank's career high. He also hit double digit triples 5 times in that stretch. Stole double digit bases 9 times (do steals not count, it is offensive but not hitting. Ok maybe they shouldn't count). He knocked in triple digits 10 times in that span. He didn't BB like Frank did, but Frank had over 350 TB once in his career, Mays did 7 times. There can be a very strong case made for either guy. To try to claim it definitively, is silly.
  2. I mean that is fine, it just isn't cut and dried at all. Yeah, Frank is one of the best RH Hitters of all time for certain. But you could easily look at any of those guys, especially Mays, and picking a difference is splitting hairs somewhere. You could easily be comping Frank with Jeff Bagwell (94-01), Albert Pujols (01-10) and Miguel Cabrera(10-15) and have similar numbers. Frank is an All Time Great. And the best Sox player ever. My favorite player ever. I don't know how you can claim him to be better than some of these other guys though. It is splitting hairs to make whatever argument you want.
  3. Cards. Pretty sure that means he will be a star.
  4. Here you go "Pal". Something to peruse. https://www.baseball-reference.com/players/m/mayswi01.shtml
  5. This is every Sox second round pick, right? " We had his as a 1st round talent"
  6. Haha. Draft Tracker has him as R/R, but the video shows a LHP.
  7. It always is. I hate that freaking comp round.
  8. Surprised there wasn't a Brady Shoemaker comp.
  9. Please. Just don't post about Abreu. It makes you seem ridiculous, ignorant and petty.
  10. I'd love Witt. And I say that as a fan of Vaughn. But I am a complete believer in Witt.
  11. I think I would normally prefer Vaughn. But based of his scouting of Lucas Gioito, take whoever Parkman wants.
  12. I heard Hostetler on the radio yesterday, he said that indeed, Burger was in AZ. I also believe he said Burger was playing in games.
  13. Yeah, that makes sense, but the Orioles... ... ...
  14. Yeah, the "If Kenny is involved" talk is insane. The dude is the highest ranking baseball guy in the organization. Of course he is involved.
  15. Completely off the rails here, but if you haven't been to Portland, it is cool as heck. Nice little 2 hour flight, really cool vibe, so great food, a neat little city.
  16. Ricky really screwed Lopez yesterday. He should have come out after the first 2 ropes in the 6th. Then certainly after he got the DP. There was no legitimate reason to leave him in that game. He was over 100 pitches, his stuff was fading, his command was faltering. That was terrible managing. Ricky cost Reynaldo a couple runs. He should have had someone up to start the inning. Then after the double. Just terrible.
  17. It is interesting. I also find it interesting that some of the very best hitters in the game over that period are RH 1B.
