  1. Yeah. It was really frustrating and irritating.
  2. He is the VP of baseball ops right? Isn't this one of the major components of his job? It isn't like it is a secret.
  3. First bolded part makes the second highly unlikely to me.
  4. This part is troubling to me. Obviously they suck this year, but why lock yourself into this guy again. He is giving you plenty of reasons to sit him. This team can't get out of its own way.
  5. I was there too, and it was packed. Though as was brought up before, the Sox are terrible at being busy. My daughter wanted a pretzel and cheese, and there was a stand like a section over, so I went to get it for her, and ended up waiting about an inning (both halves, including Covey being taken out of the game), before I was served. Oh, and there couldn't have been more than 10 people in line. It was completely ridiculous. There was literally (like literally, literally) one person served in the entire Sox half of the inning ( I was there the Sox 4th and the Boston 5th). His order that took 10 minutes to complete? Popcorn and a beer. It was another nice slap in the face to the fans in attendance in addition to having to watch a bad AAA pitching staff get their brains kicked in. Kids loved running the bases though.
  6. I think it is more likely poor management, development and strategies.
  7. I haven't heard anything in regards to his power, does he have any? Does anyone know? Those speed numbers are crazy fast.
  8. Could this just be because they need pen arms for today? Truly it isn't like there are better options in Charlotte right now.
  9. Not sure this is true. In his minor league career, by season, he has stolen 41, 23, 26. Quite a few CS last season (17), but highly successful before that. So far this year his is 8/10. And for the most part, he has hit and had a good OBP at each stop. And hitting anything in the Birmingham black hole is nothing to sneeze at, haha.
  10. Yeah, if you combined them, then maybe you could have a superprospect with an OPS around 1300... oh wait...
  11. Birmingham is downright depressing.
  12. Can someone with twitter tweet that bat flip to Grichuk and ask if that is ok?
  13. It still doesn't make sense. They wanted to save 50 million on the last 2 years of his deal, so they basically waste 40 million this season ( I know guys like Colome and Herrera aren't wastes in terms of their on field quality, but they are a waste in terms of having a good set up man and closer on a 100 loss team doesn't really do much for you -- now maybe they are traded for solid assets, but who knows.).
  14. Cheap on great players, spend like a drunken gambler on the crappy ones.
  15. That is true. The walks being down are a great sign. Reason for hope.
  16. Especially when you miss out on a possibly franchise altering player for 50 million dollars over 10 years.
  17. But not the ability to limit runs and get outs.
