  1. Odd to see this said about a team with Kershaw. Especially considering Kluber's postseason ERA is just about 4, and has been worse than that the last 2 postseasons (10.64 the last 2 years, though he has only pitched 11 innings -- in 3 starts, but still 13 ER).
  2. Uuuhhh, how exactly? Really seems like he wanted a west coast team, and no amount of money makes that happen. Especially when you can only offer a capped amount that more desirable geographical locations could also offer.
  3. Well, actually, he can sign with any team that wants him, which may be none. He has thrown 231 innings in the last 4 years with a 6.25 ERA. I don't think teams are going to be beating down the door.
  4. Why on Earth would Bailey waive his no-trade rights to go to a team that was going to waive him?
  5. Seems like a lot of Manny's teammates really like him.
  6. Wow. Casey Stern on Inside Pitch on MLB network radio, just took a huge shit on the White Sox. Basically said why would anyone ever want to play there, and no one cares that they won the World Series. My day was going too well apparently. Casey put an end to that. I actually hope Jerry heard it, because if I were the owner, it would have made me mad enough to just say f- it, I'm signing both of those guys.
  7. The hope would be -- and I stress hope --- that the bulk of the roster would be able to be filled with young inexpensive talent from the farm system the next 6-8 years while these contracts were on the books.
  8. Let's not get our hopes up, the Yankees or the Phillies might blow him away too. I think...
  9. Chris Davis says "Hello". And Jacoby Ellsbury is waving at you from the DL. But your point is well taken.
  10. WHAAAAAAAAAAATTTTT????????? I think I would pee my pants for joy.
  11. Yeah, Cleveland has cut salary. They may cut more, they may not. Maybe they are in position now to hold onto Kluber and Bauer in that rotation. But along with cutting costs, they have seriously cut their talent. Their leaders in bWar were Lindor and Ramirez. After those two it was: Brantley, Gomes, Encarnacion. Those three accounted for 8.1 WAR that has left the Indians. Next was Kipnis, then Alonso (1.6). Josh Donaldson was also at .7 for the Indians. On the pitching side, Miller and Allen only accounted for .2 wins, but I think we can all agree that losing those guys will have a negative impact on the Indians, even if they had seasons that were less than their usual output. They have, so far, replaced that lost 10.6 WAR with 1.7 from Santana and .6 from Bauers. Granted they still have work to do, but there is no way, even with salary flexibility, trading Bauer or Kluber would improve their team. Cleveland is on the downswing, now it is still likely they win the division, but there is no doubt their team is worse now as it stands, that it was at the end of last season.
  12. Was that the Mike Cameron 4 HR game? He is another Sox guy I loved, and was irate when he was traded to the Reds for some minor league1B, when they already had Frank Thomas?????? What the heck????? Turns out that minor league 1B was Paul Konerko. All in all, I am happy with that deal as a fan. ? Cammy did kill the Sox after that though.
  13. Cmon man, it says he is a journalist with integrity right there on his twitter page. That seems legit to me.
