In regards to Melky, I know he isn't gonna get a blue chipper or anything, but I know if I were managing a team in the playoffs, I would be pretty comfortable with Melky getting big at-bats in a clutch situation. He is, and has remained a very good hitter.

Boy great to see that out of Collins. He had a nice game even before the Slam. Up over .220, I think he bottomed out at like .206 a week or so ago.

If a were the GM of a contending team, I would feel pretty confident in Melky's ability to put together good at bats in any situation.

If he can't do both, his path towards being a major contributor is pretty narrow. Yes, it looks like he can now stay at C, that is huge. A great success for the development team. But a catcher that can't hit, is no big deal, and to be a difference maker, well, I don't think Collins has the Molina arm.
