There is. He could retire, and let someone else take over for the rest of the season.
It's not going to happen and it is more likely he is back next season.
I have become accustomed to not liking Sox managers and JR doesn't care

I'm not embarrassed to admit that I could go into my closet and pull out clothes that would fit with that theme day

who is the woman?

Except this is the exact opposite. Players clearly not laughing about it. How you live with this level of cognitive dissonance?
Clearly?
It seems to me they are making great sport of it.

Add Gio to the list.
He was already on the list after his out of gas game

People act like he's been absolutely awful...
The reality is, he hasn't been his electric self that we were expecting, but he has still saved 9 of 11 opportunities.
The contract always ends up setting the expectations

Quit acting like Gio pitching a great game somehow magically makes TLR’s horse shit all good.
Whenever Ozzie did something crazy we always accepted it as taking the pressure off the young team.
I'll just treat Tony the same way.
The players probably laugh about it

God knows I believe in jinxes but they’re not contending this year.
I fear them on a game to game basis. There was no game in this series I thought was an automatic win. However, I don't fear that they will be in it over the long haul

TLR would have had a hard time trying to frame it that way because it's pretty clearly not at all what happened. He lied about what he saw (or he's struggling with basic cognitive functions) and lying about what he did.
I read on another site the mlbtv people were indicating that Yermin acknowleged that he did see the take sign.

Beyond the 16 run explosion, offense not great since the KC series.

the ricketts' made lakeview look like arlington heights
maybe the sox can make arlington heights look like bridgeport

looks strong enough to finish the game, although I wouldn't suggest it with 2,3,4 up next inning

If Tony had framed this as Mercedes being openly insubordinate by knowingly disobeying a take sign, I think he wins the discussion. That isn't an unwritten rule of baseball. That is a (usually) written rule of every workplace. Yermin has already had some trouble following basic rules this year when given his one shot.
It was such an odd way to present it, as a disrespect to the game.

Tony isn't going to feed Yermin's kids when he stops swinging

The goal of the game for both teams in that situation is to finish the game as quickly as possible. Swinging at pitches is more likely to result in outs than not swinging at pitches, thus ending the game more quickly. What is the logic in not swinging?

Don't forget to add Collins into the discussion. There were people who thought he couldn't even play at the MLB level six months ago. He has shown himself to be a competent defensive catcher with some valuable attributes as a hitter

JR isn't listening and hasn't listened for 40 years.

Not directly, but having him out there really hamstrings your options with Leury and Hamilton coming up.
Don't use the word hamstring around the white sox

I couldn't watch the game. Did Hendrick's running have any impact on the outcome?

I wonder if Ben Zobrist has kept himself in baseball shape?

I'm just going to do what the players seem to be doing and block him out.
This season appears to be going in too good of a direction for me to not just bathe in happiness.
