The Tatis trade alone would have been enough for him to be fired by some organizations

Giolito & Reynaldo to LAA. Update: Angels put on waivers
Superstar Lamar replied to Sleepy Harold's topic in Pale Hose Talk
thinking about it a little more, weren't we promised during the last rebuild that the money saved during those times would be banked to sign players like Lucas when he became expensive? -
Giolito & Reynaldo to LAA. Update: Angels put on waivers
Superstar Lamar replied to Sleepy Harold's topic in Pale Hose Talk
If he really cared about winning, he would have foregone his typical budgetary discipline and spent wildly this off season while he had an open window. People can call if whatever they want, this doesn't look like a team poised to compete next year. -

I don't wish it on him but at 87 you cannot make long term plans. -

I feel like a chump for liking this team since Reinsdorf began his ownership. I was just a child but even back then it didn't sit well with me when they lost Harry. 42 years later and I'm still stuck liking the team but hating the organization -

He would have signed if the Sox had made an offer he couldn't refuse. His mantra every year was that he knew his market value, which didn't change even after a down year. -
Lucas Giolito Appreciation Thread
Superstar Lamar replied to South Side Hit Men's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Thanks for the memories, Lucas. I hope the Angels dugout has something interesting in the dugout as you stare into it from the mound in the middle of the sixth inning of every start -

I hear you and I wouldn't be surprised if Gio wins a Cy Young in that time frame. The Sox have actually developed a pretty good stable of MLB starters...that are pitching for other organizations. -

Giolito was looking to go back to the west coast from the time he got here. He was never going to be a sox for life type. We got some good and inexpensive years from him. I'd be shocked if he doesn't sign with a california team or the yankees in the off season. He's always had an eye on his next career -

for f's sake -
He's only not winning if you use team wins and losses as a metric. I think he and his partners believe they are winning

Tim was told he wasn't starting today and so, prepared himself mentally not to play at all

These last few innings are a shout out dedication to Rick Hahn's expertise

I would really love to be the person who's job it is to find and then sample new items being considered.

Holmes wonders about JR's "desire"...
Superstar Lamar replied to Lip Man 1's topic in Pale Hose Talk
It's been a while since I read the Sun Times. Is Holmes a regular contributor? -
If they are going to insist on this rule, teams should be required to hand out orange slices and juice boxes to everyone after the game

I'd rather end in ties than continue with this rule

Jesse Rogers: Sox Sign Benintendi - 5yr / $75M
Superstar Lamar replied to Chicago White Sox's topic in Pale Hose Talk
in theory we are getting him for the prime years of his career I'd love to see them get him running again as well, with 20+ SB. In fact, get everyone running again. -

Well at least we won't be sadled with a "he will suck in the last half of the contract" type of deal. -
