This literally feels like it will never end. At the beginning of the winter meetings I was checking this site non-stop. Now, I just assume there will be no news, and when I do check-in, I am correct. I really think that Lozano, and Boras for that matter, are shocked that teams are not outbidding each other for their services. I would guess the offers are at least $100 million less than expected.

I'm guessing around the time the mid-season rankings come out, Cease will be in the Top 15 and Robert will be in the Top 20.

Just looked at the schedule. Alonso, as of now, seems to be at a table by himself. For Friday and Saturday that is. Looks like he'll be with Leury on Sunday.

What do we think the Harper holdup is? If the Phillies made an offer, I would think it was a pretty big one. And we know the Nationals are around $300 million, as well.

I noticed on the schedule, some of the autograph sessions have multiple players that will sign at a table, and others just have one player. Does Yonder Alonso have someone with him signing, or is he the lone signer.... for now? ?

I would've loved that deal for the White Sox. Seems like a steal to me. Have to think that this means the Dodgers are out on Harper, and we could see a Pederson move shortly.

I can’t believe how long this has been going on for now. For awhile I thought maybe I was just getting impatient, but I always thought we were just days away. Now, I rarely check the board because I feel like we’re not even relatively close.

Is this a fair summary of what is probably happening regarding Manny Machado? When the offseason began, it seems like everyone assumed that Machado would sign a contract that was around 10-year, $300 million. If anything, that was probably the starting point. As the offseason has progressed it seems as if the offers Machado is receiving are probably $100 million less than expected. He most likely has not signed because his agent is racing to find an offer close to what they intially expected. The best offer at this exact moment is probably 7-year, $210 million. Machado’s camp would probably like to get to at least $250 million. Mystery teams have probably made offers, but Machado probably has a small list of teams he would play for, and knows that one of them will eventually bite and offer him a deal he is looking for.

Tomorrow is Wednesday. Do we dare say that we think something will happen tomorrow...?

Regarding Machado and Delmonico, they’re friends going back to their USA baseball days from high school I believe.

If he rejected a 10-year, $300 million deal with Washington, I would guess his offer will be around $325 million to $350 million.

Does anyone still think that the White Sox remotely even have a chance with Harper at this point? You can make a great arguement for why he should, but I just don’t see anyway we land him. I would say our odds are around 10%. Have to think that we would have to considerably beat the Phillies offer, which I am assuming will be around 10-year, $350 million. Would think that we’d have to be at 10-year, $400 million, and I don’t see that happening if we’re right around $200 million for Manny Machado. However, I keep seeing them sox as one of the finalists. That has to be smoke from Boras trying to drive up offers.
