  1. Getting the feeling Harper is between the Dodgers and White Sox. I think the White Sox will have the better offer, but the Dodgers are more “appealing”. And it will pretty much just come down to how much bigger the Sox offer is.
  2. I am itching for some news right now. Any bit would be awesome at this point.
  3. Don’t want to get my hopes up, but everything really seems to be falling in to place. Hitters ballpark, tons of money to spend, division where most teams are rebuilding (easier to make playoffs). Then during the meetings, we find out that certain teams are just not in on Harper anymore. Very interested to see what we hear today.
  4. Anyone have links for some of the teams that the White Sox are up against for these free agents? Yankees? Dodgers? Phillies? Cubs? I've found some, but that dont seem to have much activity. I'm interested to go on some other boards, see the rumors they're posting, the confidence level they have in signing guys, etc...
  5. My prediction is that the White Sox will sign Bryce Harper if we have the highest offer. At this point I think there are 5 teams he could sign with: White Sox, Cubs, Yankees, Dodgers, or Phillies. I dont see the Cubs signing him unless they shred a considerable amount of payroll. I think the Yankees have a shot, but their offer wont be higher than 8 years. Dodgers seem to be the wild card because they have proven that they have no problems spending an incredible amount of money, even if they already have huge contracts on the books. I dont think he goes to Philly unless they offer a HUGE contract that other teams cant touch. If the going rate seems to be around 10-year, $400 million, and the Phillies just blow everyone out of the water with something like 10-year, $450 million, then I could see it. But unless the Phillies offer is just sky-high above everyone else, I dont think he goes to Philly. Just look at all the other teams that he is potentially interested in. They are in very tough divisions. The AL Central was probably the weakest division last year. Adding Harper to the White Sox could give us a path to the playoffs and a World Series every single year. The White Sox can offer so much. Hitters ballpark, endorsements that will come from being in Chicago, up and coming young team, weak division that sets the Sox up for a potential decade of dominance. So if all the other teams seem to be set at something like 10-year, $375 million, and the White Sox go 10-year, $400 million, I think there is a more than realistic chance we see Harper on the South Side.
  6. I dont know how I am missing it, but where is the original post with the Harper rumor?
  7. Thought it would be good to generate some talk here in the middle of the off-season. Where do we think some of our top prospects will start the year? Jimenez- Cease- Robert- Madrigal- Dunning- Rutherford- Collins- Basabe- Hansen- Adolfo- Walker- Burger- Gonzalez- Sheets- I'll say... Jimenez- Chicago Cease- Charlotte Robert- Winston-Salem Madrigal- Birmingham Dunning- Birmingham Rutherford- Birmingham Collins- Charlotte Basabe- Charlotte Hansen- Birmingham Adolfo- Birmingham Walker- Winston-Salem Burger- Winston-Salem Gonzalez- Birmingham Sheets- Birmingham
  8. Good to see that Luis Robert will be participating. Hopefully this will better allow him to start the 2019 season in Birmingham.
  9. I did ask if he was getting the call this season. He laughed and said he didn't know. So I guess he is in the dark like the rest of us.
  10. Yep, right by the players entrance. I’ve been lucky enough to meet a lot of the guys that have stopped through Charlotte. Excited for the next group coming up next season.
  11. Oh yeah. Really nice. I asked him if he was getting the call this year but he said he wasn't sure.
  12. Eloy with another hit today. Now up to a .351AVG and 1.022OPS with Charlotte.
  13. Guys like Jimenez, Kopech, Robert, Hansen, Dunning and Cease get a lot of attention, but I would just like to take a moment to take a moment to appreciate Luis Gonzalez and the season he is having. Started off a little slow in Kannapolis, but has completely crushed the ball this year. Batted .300 with an .850 OPS in Kannapolis, and currently with Winston Salem is batting .405 with a 1.004 OPS. Really think that he has a chance to make it to Birmingham this season. Maybe not for a huge stretch, but I would like to see him get his feet wet with the Barons. At this point, I would probably rank him as the 7th best prospect in he organization behind the guys I listed above.
  14. Nice start for Guerrero in his debut. 2 innings, 2 strikeouts, 0 walks, 0 runs.
  15. He was listed as the starter until yesterday evening.
  16. Could just be a spot start since the Knights had a doubleheader on Wednesday. Maybe start him tonight then have him work out of the bullpen with Charlotte?
  17. According to the Birmingham Barons and Charlotte Knights Twitter accounts, Jordan Guerrero has been promoted to, and will start tonight for the Knights against Gwinnett.
