  1. Where do we think he will end up 2019 and beyond? Left Field? DH? Utility Player?
  2. I think that it is Engel's job to lose coming out of Spring Training. He'll have have every opportunity to win the starting job.
  3. Just trying to get some conversation going. Obviously Reynaldo will be in the rotation for the 2018 season, but going forward with the rebuild, do people generally think he will stay a starter? Or is he destined for a closer role? The way I look at it is Rodon (assuming he stays healthy), Giolito, and Kopech are all locks for three spots, leaving two spots open. With the two spots, we currently have Lopez, Hansen, Cease, Dunning, Adams, Fulmer, Stephens, Guerrero. And that doesn't even include all the guys in our Top 30, or any free agent signings. So lets say 2019 and beyond, do we see Reynaldo Lopez as a starter, or do we see him in the bullpen?
  4. Love to see all the love that Hansen is getting. Could see him making the Top 30 when the mid-season rankings come out.
  5. With all the hype around Eloy, I am surprised there hasn't been more talk about Eloy STARTING the season in Charlotte. Assuming he starts in Birmingham, how soon do we see him get promoted to the Knights? Mid-May?
  6. Here are mine: 1. Ethan Hankins 2. Nander de Sedas 3. Brice Turang 4. Nick Madrigal 5. Nolan Gorman
  7. Based on the comments, Robert has to be starting in Kannapolis, right?
  8. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jan 17, 2018 -> 11:32 AM) At least in my eyes, Engel hasn't fully been beaten yet, but Leury has passed him. They should both make the roster out of ST, but barring any amazing changes in ST, Leury should be in CF on opening day and Engel should have to earn the position back. I agree, but the way I look at it, 2018 is almost like a practice year. Guys like Moncada, Giolito, and Lopez will get "pressure free" starts, that I think will really help them in 2019. I dont think Engel will be a starter beyond 2018, but I would love to see the development withe the bat because the glove is so strong.
  9. I really hope that they give Adam Engel a full season of starting, or at least considerable at-bats. While his offense may not have been where we wanted it to be, the defense was oustanding, and he has great speed. 2018 is one of those years where I would really like guys like Engel, as well as Delmonico and Davidson, to get considerable at-bats because I think they all have that potential to be apart of the teams passed 2019.
  10. Tyler Johnson, 5th rd pick out of South Carolina, appeared in 8 games with Great Falls and 14 games with Kannapolis. During his time with Great Falls he appeared in 8 games, finishing with a 1-1 record and .90 ERA. After that, he was promoted to Kannapolis where he appeared in 14 games. He finished with a 0-0 record, 2 saves, and a 5.74 ERA.
  11. What are some of the realistic expectations for Gavin Sheets this season, and going forward? At this point in his career, is he viewed as a top prospect that should make an immediate impact at the MLB level, or is he at the level of having strong potential, good tools, and we still have to give him some time?
  12. Shocked that Kopech was 3rd on that list considering that he finished last season as the highest ranked pitcher.
  13. QUOTE (ChiSoxJon @ Jan 16, 2018 -> 06:52 PM) Robert said he wants to see the SouthSide this year I won't rule anything out, wow That would be amazing. Funny thing is, we really have no idea what his ceiling is for this season.
  14. Really excited for this mini-camp. I love seeing all the pictures and videos on Twitter. Should be a really fun group to follow for years to come. You can tell these guys are hungry.
  15. I think that Robert will end the 2018 campaign in Birmingham. I dont know how long that will be, but I think we will see him with the Barons for some time. I dont know if he will be on the same track as Ronald Acuna from the Braves, but I think we could easily see Luis with 3 different teams this season. Personally, I think he should start in Kannapolis just to get his feet wet. Assuming everything goes well, I think that he could see Winston-Salem by the start of May. Let him play with the Dash for May, June, and July. Then depending on his progress, maybe push him to Birmingham for that last month of the season.
  16. Robert is just so hard to evaluate. Obviously he is physically gifted, and has put up good numbers in the DR and Cuba, but its just so hard to know how that will translate. Especially since he is only 20. Spring Training will be very telling but I think Kannapolis would be an excellent starting spot.
  17. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Jan 10, 2018 -> 12:37 PM) Who said that? They have 6 on current list but that isn't updated. THey'll have 5 for sure though. I'm guessing they still have Rutherford on it. Saw it on their Twitter last night.
  18. According to MLB, the White Sox will have 6 in the Top 100.
  19. According to Jon Morosi on Twitter. Should be interesting to see what they give up.
  20. I have been non-stop thinking of trade proposals for Yelich. Thoughts on any of these: 1. Hansen, Dunning, Collins, Low Level Prospect. 2. Hansen, Cease, Rutherford, Collins. 3. Dunning, Cease, Rutherford, Adams, Low Level Prospect. 4. Giolito, Fulmer, Collins, Low Level Prospect. 5. Lopez, Cease, Fulmer, Rutherford. Obviously I could go all day with this. 1. Which of these would White Sox accept? 2. Which of these would the Marlins accept?
  21. I could see some of those guys starting in Double-A, or at least getting to Double-A mid-season. Maybe a situation where Robert, Rutherford, and Adolfo start in Kannapolis, and Call, Fisher and Basabe start in Winston-Salem. Then around June, we see each group of three slide up to the next level.
  22. Anyone here live in the area? The Dash could be a really fun team to watch this season. Have the potential to have Robert, Burger, Sheets, Basabe, Adolfo, Rutherford, Cease, Skoug, Fisher, and Call all at the same time this season.
  23. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Jan 8, 2018 -> 12:59 PM) I wonder how many of our guys crack the top 100 list now. Obviously the top 4 are all but a certainty and probably all top 50 prospects. Will be interesting to see if/where those next few guys slot in. Just for some context, Rutherford & Cease were ranked 36th & 83rd respectively on their mid-season list. Cease has clearly fallen off the list if he’s behind Sheets. As bad as Rutherford was for us, I don’t see him completely dropping off the list given how high they were on him before. Landing 8 top 100 prospects does seem unlikely IMO, although I think cases can definitely be made for Dunning, Collins, & Burger. Hansen was the one I was very curious about. I wonder if he cracks the Top 40?
  24. Two things stood out to me: 1. Hansen moving up to the 3rd spot. I don’t think that has anything to do with Robert, more so the fact that Hansen is a BEAST. 2. Cease dropping to 10. I wonder if they seem him more as a reliever?
  25. 1. Jimenez 2. Kopech 3. Robert 4. Hansen 5. Cease 6. Rutherford 7. Dunning 8. Collins 9. Burger 10. Adolfo
