Obviously still awhile away, but I wanted to drum up some discussion. We're most likely going to have a top 5 pick in both drafts. What does everyone hope the moves are? Are we looking for best player available? High school vs. College? What do we all want and think?

With Collins, Zavala and Skoug, I wouldn't be surprised if we have a log jam at catcher eventually.

Dan Jennings Traded to TB for Casey Gillaspie
KnightsOnMintSt replied to GGajewski18's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE (miracleon35th @ Jul 27, 2017 -> 11:20 AM) I don't get the last few trades, especially the trading of Swarczak and Jennings, where nothing of use came back. I wish the Sox did not trade Kahnle to the Yankees and instead packaged him with Swarzak and/or Jennings to get a better prospect, for example Brinson from the Brewers. White Sox would not get Brinson for Swarzak and Kahnle. Probably would have had to trade Quintana or now trade Abreu before they would consider putting Brinson in a deal. -
Replacing Dan Jennings after the trade. Started the season in Winston-Salem, but spent a majority of time in Birmingham, before a couple of outings with Charlotte.

Looks like Aaron Bummer is getting promoted to replace Jennings, according to Scott Merkin. -

Rays getting Dan Jennings. Assuming Gillaspie goes to Charlotte, I wonder what a corresponding move will be? Already have Danny Hayes at 1B. Maybe this is when we finally see Lopez promoted. *Missing a "C" in acquire when a mod can edit that* -

Had a really nice season last year in AAA, .307BA, .389OBP and a .909OPS. Hopefully he can turn things around and start putting up those numbers again. -
I believe that Winston-Salem has been using him as a DH at some points too. Anything to keep developing that bat is great.

I think I would go with Reynaldo Lopez at No.1. -
How do you rate the rebuild so far?
KnightsOnMintSt replied to caulfield12's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Crazy to think that will probably get a top 3 pick in the 2018 draft, and most likely a top 5 pick in the 2019 draft, to add to this loaded farm system. -
Always good to get the first one out of the way. Hopefully many more to come!

Should Giolito pitch in Chicago this year?
KnightsOnMintSt replied to KnightsOnMintSt's topic in FutureSox Board
We just have to remember, come September, the AAA season is over. So does it hurt to pitch him in Chicago? I would lean towards no as of right now. -
Interesting scenario since we have Collins, but Zavala has been tearing it up. Would like to see what he has against AA pitching. But I wouldn't be against being aggressive with his development. You can't keep him behind Collins forever, so mind as well see what he has in the more advanced levels.

QUOTE (Alexeihyeess @ Jul 27, 2017 -> 10:20 AM) Right now. Him and Lopez should be taking their lumps and looking to finish this season with some sustained success against ML competition. I tend to agree with you. But I don't think it would be the worst if he could gain more confidence for a couple more starts and hopefully build on the success that he had in his most recent start. -
As of right now through 7 games Jake is batting: AVG: .433 OBP: .452 SLG: .833 OPS: 1.285 Should he be considered for a September call-up?
-
AAA season ends in September, while MLB plays through the beginning of October. Would you guys like to see Giolito in Chicago for a month, or should he start the offseason when the AAA season ends? Giolito has mentioned himself that he had some confidence issues. The only red flag I could see with him getting called up his him getting hit around and that destroying his confidence. Ultimately, I would like to see him called up to work with Coop.

Huge day for the arms last night. Hopefully we see some big games from the bats tonight.

Will we see Reynaldo Lopez in Chicago this year?
KnightsOnMintSt replied to KnightsOnMintSt's topic in FutureSox Board
Need to get Lopez to Chicago. It's starting to get to a point where he doesn't have much to prove in Charlotte. -
Will Eloy Jimenez get to AA this year?
KnightsOnMintSt replied to KnightsOnMintSt's topic in FutureSox Board
I hope that he goes to AA this year, but I wouldn't be upset if he stays with the Dash for the remainder of 2017. Regardless, he will start 2018 in AA next year, and hopefully make the jump to Charlotte around June, or beginning of July. Then I think the hope is that he crushes the ball while in Charlotte, has a really good Spring Training in 2019 and makes the Opening Day roster with the White Sox. I would imagine that this is how it will go. -
Anthony Swarzak to Brewers; Sox receive Ryan Cordell

Hoping that we now see Reynaldo Lopez called up at some point today. -
Do we see Reynaldo Lopez called up now? Really hoping so. Would love to see his first start in a White Sox uniform be against the Cubs.
-
I hope that we see him in Birmingham, even if its just for a month or so. He has absolutely crushed the ball since joining Winston-Salem. Would love to see what he can do against AA pitching.

FS: Write-up on Ryan Cordell, newest Sox prospect
KnightsOnMintSt replied to NorthSideSox72's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I like this move. Love the fact that we keep adding outfielders to the mix. Hopefully he can get some time in Chicago before the year ends. -
Carson Fulmer has really taken a tumble in these rankings. Hope that he can turn it around and be a quality reliever in the big leagues.

Nice starts for Giolito and Hansen. Giolito clearly has the stuff, just need to see it more consistently. Love to see all these nice games by Hansen. He quickly is turning into my favorite prospects to follow.
