  1. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Jul 11, 2017 -> 10:24 AM) We're not getting Robles for any of our relievers. Rizzo will be able to solve his bullpen woes by using Fedde, Soto, Kieboom, & other lesser pieces. But let's say we did, keeping Quintana doesn't make any sense. We need to turn him into mutliple pieces, with one or two of those pieces having star quality. We aren't winning anything with Quintana in 2018 & 2019, so why forego all the value we could receive in the interim? I'm thinking of keeping Q passed 2019 in the sense that I think we could sign him to an extension and have him apart of the future. But for me, we need the bats. And if a team offers some top hitting talent, I think we have to take it. But keeping Q for the rebuild, if we're able to turn some other guys into decent pieces, would be ok with me.
  2. QUOTE (Buehrlesque @ Jul 11, 2017 -> 10:17 AM) I agree with all of this except I would switch the Braves piece for Ron Acuna. The only players on this list that I think are understandably completely untouchable are Torres and maybe Devers. Everyone else should be in play. The Braves are the most interesting team to me. They just have so many pieces and they really could offer up so many great trade packages. They could probably do 5, 6, maybe 7 trades that I would be extremely happy with.
  3. QUOTE (FT35 @ Jul 11, 2017 -> 10:18 AM) I'd like to see him move soon too. I just don't see them moving Robles in any Robertson/bullpen package. Robles is their Moncada. Robertson is mid-tier closer material, they would have to be getting Chapman/Jansen to even consider Robles. Wishful thinking, I know. But the Nationals are true World Series contenders. I put it below a 5% chance of moving him, but to really lockdown the bullpen, it wouldn't totally shock me.
  4. Monster games for Burger and Collins. Would think that we could see Burger in High-A fairly soon. Love that Burger and Sheets haven't been striking out at all. Huge day for Collins, hopefully this is a confidence boost for him.
  5. QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Jul 11, 2017 -> 10:11 AM) As much as I would love Torres, I just don't see the Yankees trading him. Frazier on the other hand, I think can go. I don't think so either, but for Q, it has to be at least one of them.
  6. Would like to see a Robertson trade sooner than later because I think what we could get for him (Plus maybe throwing in Kahnle or Swarzak) could really determine how badly we need to trade Q. Lets say the Nats give us Robles and a lotto ticket for Robertson and Kahnle. Then we could get some decent pieces for Cabrera, Frazier, Swarzak, Gonzalez and Holland. Do we then hold on to Q for the rebuild?
  7. I tend to think that Melky could fetch a little bit more than people think. He is a rental, so whichever team were to acquire him would only have to pay him for the remainder of the season. I would think that any AL contending team would like to plug him in the lineup.
  8. The way I look at it for Q, is there are a couple teams I could realistically see him going to, and each one of those teams has at least one player they would HAVE to give up if they want Q. Yankees: Frazier OR Torres Brewers: Brinson Astros: Tucker Braves: Albies Red Sox: Devers Cubs: Jimenez OR Happ Rockies: Rodgers Cardinals: Reyes AND Kelley Probably nothing gets done if these teams aren't willing to give up those guys. We saw how firm teams stood with their top guys in regards to a Chris Sale trade, so if a Q trade goes down, I'll be very interested to see the pieces.
  9. Quick inning for Kopech. Struck out Moncada to end the inning.
  10. Safe to say those guys are probably starters from the get go, correct?
  11. QUOTE (steveno89 @ Jul 7, 2017 -> 10:53 AM) Why would the White Sox or Brewers trade or trade for four outfield prospects? Brewers get: Jose Quintana White Sox get: Corey Ray, Brett Phillips, Lucas Erceg, and Trey Supak
  12. Nice start for Adams. Hopefully he can continue to replicate this. ERA slowly creeping back down.
  13. I think Verlander gets the ball rolling on these trades. I don't think it's the Cubs, but I think he gets moved before the deadline.
  14. I feel like Brinson would all but be off the table. Brewers get: Jose Quintana White Sox get: Corey Ray, Brett Phillips, Trent Clark and Monte Harrison. Who says no?
  15. AAA: Charlotte at Durham 6:05pm CT start (Danish v. Yarbrough). AA: Birmingham at Jackson: 6:05pm CT start (Guerrero v. Young). High A: Down East at Winston Salem 6:00pm CT start (Martin v. Lambert) Low A: Kannapolis at Hickory 6:00pm CT start (Hickman v. Arredondo) Rookie: Missoula at Great Falls 8:00pm CT start (Sorlano v. Gallegos) AZL: Brewers at White Sox 9:00pm CT start (TBD v. TBD) DSL: Mariners at White Sox 9:30am CT start (TBD v. TBD)
  16. Love that OBP. Clearly guys are pitching around him. Excited for him to get to the AZL.
  17. Really enjoyed the article. He'll get there. Work ethic seems off the charts and the stuff is there.
  18. I would have to think Robertson. Probably brings back the second most value of anyone that's on the block, and there is no reason to have him next year since we'll still be in rebuild mode. A contender will make an offer the White Sox can't pass up.
  19. I rated it a 7. A lot of it will depend on the trade deadline for me. Unless we trade Q, we won't be getting any huge names back, but there will still be a lot that can be added. The Red Sox trade involving Chris Sale I think will work out really well. Moncada will be among the best 2B in the league, and Kopech I think has the potential to be a dominant starter. The Nationals trade with Adam Eaton is an interesting one. I am very high on Lopez as a starter. Some of his off-speed stuff is down right nasty. Dunning is a guy that I am also really high on. We probably wont see him until 2019 at the very earliest, that's my guess at least. But I think with time and development, he will have been a great piece of that trade. Then we still obviously have Giolito. He was the top ranked prospect for a reason. He's another guy that has some filthy off-speed stuff. Once he gets command of that fastball, he'll really be a force. I don't think we'll see him as soon as we may have expected, but when he is ready, I am very excited. I really like the draft picks this year. Our first 3 picks were exactly what we needed. I actually think Gavin Sheets may end up being the best player from the class. The draft picks last year still have some stuff to show. I think Burdi was rushed a bit. It seems like they thought he could actually throw out of the pen last year, and I just don't think that is the case. I would've liked to see him start this year in Double-A. But he is a hard thrower, and I love watching him pitch. Collins is a guy that I would like to see move up. It has to be rare to see a guy with his average, but at the same time have that good of an OBP and OPS. He walks a ton which either tells me he has a great eye, or he doesn't get anything to hit. Then Alec Hansen might be the prospect I am most excited about overall. Many people thought he was going to be the top pick before the year. He seems to have gotten his command back, and he is just mowing down guys right and left. Luis Robert was obviously the talk of the year. I am stoked about him, and can't wait to see him play in the states. Probably the absolute earliest we would see him is 2020/2021, but he is exactly what the White Sox need. Tough to rate a rebuild when we haven't really seen the guys at the Major League level, but I really like what I see so far.
  20. Melky has been a guy that I have been thinking about since last season in-terms of a trade. Upped his average to .291 as of late. I think a team like Milwaukee or St. Louis would really benefit from adding Melky.
  21. Another benefit of a Robertson trade is that he is not a rental. A contending team will have Robertson for a post-season run, plus have him for another full year. I have a hard time believing the Red Sox would give up Devers, but if we could manage C.J. Chatham and Michael Chavis, I would be pretty happy with that.
  22. I'm thinking Engel after a solid showing for his brief stint in Chicago.
  23. I think you keep Avi at this point. I am always of the mindset that anyone could be traded for the right deal. I dont think we get the right deal for Avi right now just because of the small sample size. But everyone knows the White Sox need bats, and to get this kind of production from Avi, it really fills two needs that we have.
  24. Another good game for Moncada today. Hopefully that slump is over.
