Sounds like raBBit suggesting a trade may be in the works that would land us a SP and a RF.

Is it possible that the plan was to bring Yolmer back all along? Perhaps sox will announce a 1 or 2 year deal with Yolmer. Or does timing of that just not make sense right now?

Zack Wheeler: To the Phils (5yr 118); Sox had made BIGGER offer

P Noles is a wet blanket dork. -
Opens up a spot on the 40 man. Are we about to see a signing?

The hot stove is cold. There are no rumors and there is no action. We are a couple of weeks away from the Winter Meetings, so until then we basically have nothing to do with our lives other than work and spend time with family at thanksgiving (good or bad thing depending who you ask). So, let's play a game. 10 offseason questions. Answer all 10, the person with the most correct answers wins. Deadline for submissions is when 1 of these answers becomes officially answered. 1) Will any free agent contracts exceed $34.5 million in AAV? 2) Will any free agent contracts exceed 7.5 years in guaranteed length (does not include option years)? 3) Will the White Sox sign one of the top 5 free agent contracts, based on total guaranteed dollars, this offseason? 4) Will the White Sox sign a free agent to a deal of at least 5 years in length? 5) Will the White Sox sign a free agent for a contract exceeding $100 million in guarantees? 6) Will the White Sox make a trade for a starter at one of their key positions of need (SP/C/DH/RF)? 7) Will the White Sox trade one of their top 15 prospects according to MLB Pipeline (Robert, Kopech, Madrigal, Vaughn, Dunning, Walker, Stiever, Basabe, Rutherford, Collins, Adolfo, Gonzalez, Sheets, Thompson, Dalquist)? 8 ) Will Jose Abreu sign a multi-year deal with the White Sox? 9) Will the White Sox agree to an extension with any MiLB players like they did with Eloy last offseason? 10) Other side of town: Will the Cubs trade one of their "core 4" position players (Rizzo, Bryant, Baez, Contreras)?

Nightengale had no insider info on this. I listened and it sounded like pure speculation based on the Sox current financial flexibility and eagerness to start winning in a winnable division. Bob said nothing on the podcast that I couldn't have also told Chuck and Ryan. I'm not saying the Sox won't spend, I think they will. I just don't think we should take anything Nightengale said to mean much at all.

Sheets, this is becoming real
-
Can someone show me Sheets stats this season since his turnaround started? Trying to find month by month stats for MiLB on Baseball Reference but not sure... Edit: found he had an .884 OPS in June and an .895 in July. Nice!

Will they put their money where their mouth is this time?

Colome remains with White Sox, who always had ample interest in him

37 minutes from intrigue or disappointment. -
No. Taking a flier on a guy they've liked and seeing what he looks like up close. Nothing more imo.

Law uses 9 ABs he's seen in person of Robert plus 1 all star game to explain most of his evaluation. TRASH

Sox claim 1b A.J. Reed off waivers AND send him to majors

Castillo is rehabbing in the minors as we speak. Assuming he is called up very soon, I imagine Collins goes back to AAA. -
And Madrigal 12!!
-
Yep, his numbers should be insane. Sox basically have to keep him in Charlotte for 10 weeks of games. 8 weeks left this season and the first 2 weeks of next season. The noise to bring him to Chicago will be loud but they likely will keep him down until mid-April. Just the reality of today's game and CBA.
-
Per Robert's instagram, translated into english: "Last turn with the Barons. Thank you for everything but you have to continue looking for the objective." Sounds like he's headed to Charlotte. Steele to Birmingham?
-
They are all passed. Super 2 passed last month, the next "deadline" would have been to wait until middle of next April. Calling him up now is the right move.
-
Jesus christ... Back on topic. Vaughn straight to w-s you think? Seems like most of our college 1st rounders have gotten a taste of Kanny. With Vaughn's advanced approached and our timeline being closer to a competitive team at MLB level, will he maybe go straight to W-S?

Another hit for Rutherford makes it 4 hits tonight. Battung .385 in June.

Don't look now but Blake Rutherford is starting to produce at AA. Doesn't lead me to shy away from Carlson though. If they both succeed, it's a good problem to have. Really would love to add another OF or SP top 100 type for Colome if we could. -

Would be nice if the Cards can hang on in the race enough to feel compelled to make a move for a closer. I imagine they will stay in the race in the crowded NLC and certainly the WC. Will they feel the need to add a closer as this doesn't feel like a move to put them over the top to win a World Series but rather fill a roster hole in order to stay competing. One thing working in our favor with Hicks presumably getting TJS soon, he's likely out through next season which could make Colome intriguing to them as he has team control through 2020. Does Dylan Carlson make sense as a return? #2 Cards prospect, #88 in MLB. Switch hitting OF, profiles as a RF with limited speed but has a 55 field grade. Projects well from both sides of the plate, throws left-handed in the OF. Currently OPS .856 at AA at age 20. I think the Sox would love this return, would Cards make this deal? Could be our 3rd "Dylan C." Joining Covey and Cease! -
And That's a White Sox Extra Inning Winner !!

Eloy single up the middle, he moved to 3rd on a 1 out base hit by Anderson (nice base running by Eloy), and scored on a safety squeeze bunt by Sanchez. -

Thats who i was thinking. Switch hitting OF with 60 Arm and 60 field grades. OPS .859 at AA at age 20. -
Those are the same guy...

This Adley sliding past 1 rumor has been talked about for a couple weeks now. But 24 hours from the draft, this report seems to have some legitimate smoke. Tomorrow is gonna be fun.
