  1. Doesn't mean we should sign someone expensive that becomes a terrible deal...
  2. This is essentially what I want us to do (unless we target Ryu).. Just sign Castellanos and like Encarnacion and create a juggernaut offense and attack SP in the future.
  3. I've gone from excitement over the winter meetings to nervousness and fear. I really do not want us to trade our young core (Cease, Madrigal and Vaughn). . We just are not to that point yet.
  4. would have made it a failed offseason IMO.. This offseason was setup perfectly for our needs. TOR starters, TOP catcher, and some good DH options (we chose Abreu on long term)
  5. Yeah but that still would be kinda a weird one to peg... What kind of contract would you feel comfortable at?
  6. I'm not saying he still isn't a fine prospect.. But he will not be top 100 after the year he had.
  7. Super bad K rates. Bad batted ball. .761 OPS. There are 100 better prospects in baseball.. I'd bet he falls out of top 100 for sure.
  8. This is pre=update.. Madrigal will stay around 40. Chisholm will fall out of the top 100 post update.
  9. This is a main reason why I would not even consider that. Never really high thought of. Many players come in hot and fizzle. I wouild just stay clear of losing a big prospect like Madrigal for a guy like that. We see it all the time.. I mean look what the Marlins traded him for in the middle of his debut.... Jazz Chisholm
  10. which is interesting.. I would want nothing to do with Gallen at that price.
  11. This is encouraging.. He was probably just commenting on the Collins, Vaugh and Stiever the guy asked.. So maybe no Cease/Madrigal too.. So maybe it's our second tier we are fine with moving?
  12. Granted, I just don't want to trade any of our top prospects. I'd rather just sign Ryu or get wild and try Strasburg.
  13. I like Snell a lot.. But he still makes me a tad nervous as a bust candidate. If you take out his massive year he's just been "fine". Not a Cease deal type guy.
  14. me too.. He was right about Machado the entire time.. What is a hopefully Ozuna contract? 3 years 45 mill?
  15. Castellanos BUT I don't think there's much of a difference to jump the gun early and pay top price.
  16. Yeah both of those players I could see becoming the Keuchel of 2018 offseason.
  17. This is what I find as the ideal move.. Probably Stiever, Walker +. Maybe have to use Dunnings instead of Steiver?
  18. Yes, his contract is fine. The Cubs just don't want it since they want to shed. He is not a strictly salary dump.
  19. Let's take on the Darvish contract for the Cubs.. We will also take Quintana too . The Cubs alone could realistically solve our SP issues.
  20. yes he is injured far more.. This may mean we would need a better backup than with the other options.. But when he is playing he is far superior. I'm not even really advocating for it.. I just am not a fan of the other two really. Joc would be my preference
  21. I'd rather have Pollack than Castellanos or Ozuna.
  22. I would rather have Castellanos based on player alone.. The fact that Ozuna has a QO makes it an even larger gap... Unless we can somehow get him relatively cheap.
