  1. Honestly no.. I am not huge on MadBum or Castellanos as our 2 big "gets". I am fine with Encarnacion and Kuechel as our 3 and 4 pieces though. Sub either Wheeler for MadBum OR Grandal for Castellanos and I would be fine with it.
  2. What an asinine statement... "I prefer Castellanos to JDM"..
  3. I just don't see how MadBum would want to leave the NL given hes a good hitter, and thoroughly enjoys it
  4. no, serious haha. I almost always agree with you
  5. If I offer on a house 80,000 and the other guy offers 100,000. And the asking price was 105,000, do you really think the seller will give me (the 80,000 offerer) a chance again? No, they won't. They'll accept the 100,000
  6. If it makes you feel better I was only paying him 22 million to stay at 1b
  7. What would it realistically take to get Conforto? I imagine a propsect in the 70-100 range PLUS a few other interesting prospects.. We don't really have a guy that fits that.. but what about a Dunning + Rutherford/Walker/Basabe + a prospect in the 20-30 range.. I think Dunning would have to headline. So more depth but they won't be getting the higher prospect they probably could from us. I'd love Conforto he literally checks all our boxes. Middle of the order bat, LH, fine RF defense, control and he plays for a team that needs to probably rid themselves of an OF. I think he can be had.
  8. a bit better? Dude is stratouspheres above Abreu. Agreed, I'd rather have top pitching though
  9. Yeah, he should accept it. And i am fine paying him 18 million on a year to year basis. Doesn't block anyone AND protects us from a fall off should one happen.
  10. It guarantees we are realistic about his value too i believe, which is outstanding news. Meaning we probably offered him a fair value (2 years 25 mil) or something like that and he thought he could get more (he can't) so we are letting him test the market. Great for us.
  11. Yeah he would be able to find someone to play him at third.. But if we offer 5-10 million more, do you think he would care? Also, how much would it really knock him? I'm assuming he would be average (at worst) at first base, at that's me being conservative. Still a stud hitter.
  12. My idea would be for him to play 1B for 2020 and then move to DH. But yes, this would be tougher to convince Donaldson of that. I do see that point.
  13. I think he deserves his own thread at this point. With JDM opting in and Abreu receiving a QO.. It may be time for us to explore some new alternatives. What about Donaldson for first base? A 3 year 65 million dollar deal I would think would get it close.
  14. I'd think he would be on a 3 year 60 million deal.. Something short but high ABV
  15. Yolmer = 4 million... Didi = 14 million... For a backup I'd rather have Yolmer. Clearly Didi is far and away better but we just don't have a position for him that makes sense.
  16. Yeah, he is still definitely a trade candidate. Without a doubt
  17. Boom.. This is who I want as my back end of the rotation signing.
  18. man I just am not interest in Calhoun at all
  19. well that's not true.. that's what's nice about this, is it's a one year deal...
  20. no certainly not.. Glad we are on the same page now! hahah
