Brewers Acquire Christian Yelich & sign Lorenzo Cain
Squirmin' for Yermin replied to GGajewski18's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jan 19, 2018 -> 06:39 PM) Adam Jones, Charlie Blackmon, and AJ Pollock are all Free Agents next offseason. If CF remains a need, we have the money. Blackmon and Pollack I could get behind.. Not so much for Jones. -
QUOTE (Hamhock @ Jan 20, 2018 -> 09:51 AM) https://www.mlb.com/whitesox/ballpark/infor...guide#n-content thanks, I wonder if they've already done them for this season or if they haven't started yet. darn!

Hey all, does anyone know how one (me) would go about trying to audition to sing the National Anthem for the Sox? I've done it elsewhere and it's always been a dream of mine. Any insight would be outstanding.

MLB Pipeline Top Prospects

QUOTE (GenericUserName @ Jan 19, 2018 -> 04:04 PM) Between the scouts saying he'll be good if he adds loft to his swing, and the reports out of the hitters camp that he is hitting it in the air more, I'm pretty excited to see what he can do this year. Me too.. I was and still am super excited about our first three picks last year. (Burger, Sheets, Gonzalez) -

TOP 10 1B prospects released. No Sox (no surprise) HOWEVER, they names Gavin Sheets the 1B prospect to watch.. So that's pretty cool -

top 10 First Basement will be released today. Wouldn't expect any of ours on this list. Gavin Sheets is probably our best 1b prospect followed by Gillespie (Who ranked 5th on this list last year). Suprising how thin this list for 1B is with talent -

QUOTE (Dizzy Sox @ Jan 18, 2018 -> 07:57 PM) I sure hope I'm wrong but Rutherford just screams to me of being an overhyped Yankee prospect who loses his shine once he's out of pinstripes. I know he was well regarded coming out of the draft but...just not feeling this one. Yeah, he has lost A LOT of shine -

QUOTE (KrankinSox @ Jan 18, 2018 -> 02:38 PM) Rutherford had a quote in the Athletic saying he grew another inch to inch and a half this offseason. It's easy to forget how young he is and still coming into his body. Obviously would like to see an improvement at the plate in 2018 but I don't think he should lose all of his stock as a prospect. I agree but top 100 is a big deal. Hard to make it following a very down year -

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jan 18, 2018 -> 01:19 PM) Rutherford’s still in the 60’s at pipeline, isn’t he? I just can't believe anyone still has him in the top 100 in all of baseball.. surprises me -

QUOTE (ChiSox59 @ Jan 18, 2018 -> 10:37 AM) MLB.com has already released info that reflected 6 Sox in top 100. So 2 of Cease, Dunning, or Rutherford are in the top 100 after Eloy, Kopech, Hansen and Robert. Oh, i didnt know that.. I'd go Cease and Dunning!!! -

He needs to hope this fixes.. Otherwise he is a non-prospect. I still have faith. But he still has a ways to go -
Next 5 prospects to break in to top 30

QUOTE (steveno89 @ Jan 18, 2018 -> 08:07 AM) Kade McClure is a guy I'm keeping tabs on. Hiuge frame at 6'7", 230 lbs. Very small sample size, but dominated in 11 innings last year after being drafted, only allowing 3 hits, 3 walks, while striking out 19 SP or RP? -

Not too surprising. He has a lot to prove -
QUOTE (SCCWS @ Jan 17, 2018 -> 02:57 PM) Not sure that is true for Moncada. Last year was his pressure free time. He was moved back to his probable future position at 2nd after a really rocky cup of coffee in Boston. Next year's win/loss numbers won't matter but if Moncada really struggles offensively, I think there will be pressure on him later in the year. If he gets 400 AB and his HR/RBI numbers and average are still an issue, I think the fan base will start getting antsy. He will probably be putting pressure on himself as well. I agree the pitchers get a free ride. You hit it right on the head.. We, as fans, need Moncada to produce. Especially general fans

The fact that scouts say he will stick in Center field is the only thing I care about.. That is HUGE if he can

MLB top 10 LHP released
Squirmin' for Yermin replied to Squirmin' for Yermin's topic in FutureSox Board
Yup. Luzardo and Ward -
The best he will ever be is a backup OF. And a 4th OF with great D and speed isn't a bad thing to have.. but lets not act like he can be a starter.. His hit tool is too bad

nothing too surprising here. We all knew we'd have no one on this list lol. Can't wait till the batter lists are released!!! -
In order: 1. MacKenzie Gore, Padres 2. A.J. Puk, Athletics 3. Justus Sheffield, Yankees 4. Luiz Gohara, Braves 5. Brendan McKay, Rays 6. Adrian Morejon, Padres 7. Kolby Allard, Braves 8. Jesus Luzardo, Athletics 9. Stephen Gonsalves, Twins 10. Max Fried, Braves It hurts my insides that I BELIEVE we could have gotten Luzardo + for Robertson... I will still be sad about this.. Luzardo>Rutherford. lol

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jan 17, 2018 -> 09:45 AM) I think they only drafted like 1 starter in the top 10 rounds in McClure. The rest were relievers. Sorry I just meant pitchers in general.. I remember Henzman was one..
-
So.. what ever happened with the pitchers we drafted in like rounds 4-9 or something (I don't remember). Didn't we sign them all? How'd they perform? What's their expectations
-
Realistic expectations for Gavin Sheets?
Squirmin' for Yermin replied to KnightsOnMintSt's topic in FutureSox Board
Hopefully he can make it to Birmingham. Hopefully have an average around .280 with better pop than he showed in last year (though it was a long season for him, maybe he was tired). I'm excited for berger, him and Gonzalez from last years class -
QUOTE (KnightsOnMintSt @ Jan 17, 2018 -> 08:30 AM) I think that Robert will end the 2018 campaign in Birmingham. I dont know how long that will be, but I think we will see him with the Barons for some time. I dont know if he will be on the same track as Ronald Acuna from the Braves, but I think we could easily see Luis with 3 different teams this season. Personally, I think he should start in Kannapolis just to get his feet wet. Assuming everything goes well, I think that he could see Winston-Salem by the start of May. Let him play with the Dash for May, June, and July. Then depending on his progress, maybe push him to Birmingham for that last month of the season. That would be exciting!

QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Jan 17, 2018 -> 08:48 AM) How about you just subscribe? Are you a coffee drinker? It's literally the price of 1 cup of coffee per month. It's the best deal in the city. Nope I don't drink coffee and I also don't want to pay $60 a year to read a few articles.. So you wanna quit being a dick or what?
