  1. QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Sep 14, 2017 -> 10:15 AM) "Bullpen - wing it" lmao hahah right!? This team will be tragic next year. Probably about the same as this year. remember we wont have Quintana, Robertson, Swarzak, Kahnle, Melky and Frazier (barf) for half a year. That really won us some games.
  2. QUOTE (ron883 @ Sep 13, 2017 -> 06:10 PM) This team looks good enough to compete for the WC or division next year. Indiana have some stats who are aging. Never know what happens in baseball. Sox will also have Kopech and eloy at some point. Rodon/Kopech/Lopez/giolito/ shields or guerrero or Stephens or Adams 1B abreu 2B moncada SS TA/leury 3b Davidson/nicky/yolmer DH delmonico/davidson/abreu RF avi CF leury/engel LF nicky/eloy C: TA/Kevin smith Supersubs yolmer/leury Bullpen - wing it. I think this team will be a pleasant surprise and the Sox very May well have a chance to compete. You've answered why this team isn't good enough to compete... with that roster lol
  3. I am fine with wins like this. Lopez pitched fine for where he is in his career and Moncada had a great game with the bat along with some other of our possible bats that may be around for the next few years. This win is okay.
  4. WOW! I love how this kid works. Super fast. He is ready to throw before the batter is even in the box. I also like how he changes how long he pauses in his step back/sideways. Sometimes it's super fast where it barely seems like his foot is hitting the ground while other times he pauses for a second or two. After that video of him.. I am hooked haha
  5. QUOTE (hi8is @ Sep 6, 2017 -> 11:37 PM) I understand this. The magic number from fathom - I still don't really get even after trying to figure it out for weeks. ( I'm as dense upstairs as a block of wood. ) Yeah I don't get the magic bold number thing at all either lol. I'm not the only one!!!
  6. I am a Beer lover. That bat to me seems safer than any college/High School bat I've seen in recent memory. To me he is guaranteed a 3-5 spot in an order. But yes.. His defense blows. Hopefully he could stick at 1B or LF but even if he can't, his bat will be huge for a DH. What about this Wil Banfield? Now I much prefer taking a college player than a HS player and I honestly don't know much about him.. But everything I read seems great. Seems to be an outstanding defensive catcher with plus bat tools. Now if we somehow far in the 5 pick range, that could be interesting. Thoughts? Anyone know much about him?
  7. The new Phillies (Hoskins, Williams and Alfaro) may really help our chances, they're all raking and giving them some wins! Though we also have an influx of young talent (Moncada, Lopez, Giolito, Delmonico). It's really a two team race. Let's get to it! Go Phillies!
  8. QUOTE (IowaSoxFan @ Aug 23, 2017 -> 02:47 PM) I think its time for the Sox to move some guys around. Fulmer needs to go to the bullpen fulltime. With Burdi out for probably most of next year Fulmer could be a solid option for the Sox in the bullpen. Letting him go out in shorter stints would allow for him to play his stuff up a bit more and if he is successful, you have a valuable piece. His results the last two years are not trending in a positive direction, and its probably time to make a change. I think the Hawkins experiment is done. The results just aren't getting any better, its time to move him to the mound to see if the team can salvage any value from the pick. His high school scouting report said some teams like him as a pitcher and he threw 92-95. Make a move and let him try to be the next Sergio Santos, Sean Doolittle, or best case Kenley Jansen. Odds are he wont make it as a pitcher either, but its worth a try. Jake Peter to LF. With his history of arm trouble, 2B is the best position for him, however he will be blocked from the position for the foreseeable future unless the Sox trade him. He played 2B, 3B, RF, and LF in AA but has played exclusively 2B in AAA. He needs more time at other positions if he is going to be a useful piece. The team has an opportunity in LF next season and Peter could be a fit. Jace Fry to the bullpen. By all accounts Fry has a good arm, however the starter workload seems to be more than his arm can handle. I agree on Fulmer. Though I'm not even certain he can be a bullpen piece, though you'd hope he'd have more success tehre. But why not try I guess? I'd prefer Peter to stay at 2B since we literally have no middle infield depth and we seem to have a lot of guys we were just moved to corner OF. The other two are just about as non-prospect as you can get so they can make them ball boys for all I care lol
  9. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 22, 2017 -> 11:05 AM) I have no idea how this kid isn't in the 25 to 50 range at least. He has checked all of the boxes for a year now. I agree. I believe that when lists are out at the beginning of next year he will be in the 25-50 range and our #3 prospect behind Eloy and Kopech
  10. Hey all! So I have been following this forum daily for a few years, but for some reason never made an account! Well now I have, so I'll be joining in on some conversations and I'm super excited about it. I haven't seen this posted anywhere and I'm all about the rebuild and prospects but Alec Hansen is now #100 on MLB top prospects. I get that may not mean much but it's clearly well deserved and still exciting to see that he is respected outside of just this Sox organization. Can't wait to be apart of this forum. I'm a massive White Sox fan and have been my whole life. I'm 23 and an accountant in Michigan City, IN. Call me "Gallo".. BELIEVE IN THE REBUILD!!!
