  1. which would be CRAZY to count on that many young prospects. Santander is one of the only guys who has track record
  2. Yeah, I hate their pitching staff (for a playoff contender) and their bullpen makes me nervous given that their best guy (Cano) had a career year last year with not much success prior. Wild to be that they have yet to make any improvement in either of those areas.
  3. I mean, sure. But isn't there always a "stailmate" in all trade discussions? We don't know what's being offered I presume. If we are firm at Kjerstad AND Westburg, that seems like a lot. But if they're firm at a Westburg, Beavers and McDermott (3 player) deal, then that is an easy pass and wait until the deadline offer as that can easily be matched even without an improved Cease. The only risk, is injury or a Manoah like collapse.
  4. no. But I also don't expect them to develop close to the majors guys either loll.
  5. Yeah I have them outside the playoffs right now. They had a lot of career year guys last year. (Bradish, cano, ohearn, Mateo). They’re relying a lot on no regression and that all the youngsters hit
  6. I'm surprised we haven't signed Michael Taylor given that he played for the Royals.
  7. I like Eder a lot. Just surprised he got any votes.
  8. How tf did Eder and Gonzalez receive votes. Schultz i'm guessing just barely edged out Joey Ortiz?
  9. I've always been surprised we've never seen the Rangers. They have the prospects to do it AND the need for a guy like Cease.
  10. I think most would. I was under the impression Jimmy thought only the first 3.
  11. Age absoultely works against a 'prospect' with no (or little) major league experience more than an upper 20s major league caliiber player.
  12. Oh, I would totally do those 4 guys if that's what you're insinuating. I thought you meant just those first three.
  13. I love that write up. He's got some helium it seems.
  14. Nothing apart from us talking about it. They make loads of sense to me. They've had a weird offseason to me so far.
  15. What's the dealio with Arias? I see quite a few posters mentioning him and know he's super young.
  16. For sure. I don't understand why anyone would want to accept a Westburg/Beavers/Povich type proposal, especially after we saw what we got for half a year of Giolito.. Giolito just got the equivalent of a backend top 100 (I think in the 60-70 at time of trade) and a little lesser SP prospect than Povich.. But Gio also had one less year than Cease will at this deadline.. So the risk is what exactly? sure injury risk, but if he's healthy and okay, you still get a Westburg/Beavers/Povich TYPE offer at the deadline. Maybe you lose the Povich piece? If he's showing flashes of 2022, the offers go up substantially. I don't see it as that risky (if that's the offer), outside of potential injury.
  17. Yeah, I really dislike their pitching staff. Rays are always in it and I think the Yankees have really improved AND I think they're actually going for it so will make some big deadline splashes. I've got the Orioles finishing 3rd as of now. They feel very 2020-2021 Sox-y to me. Tons of young prospect studs, but virtually no outside help via free agency. That's an awful lot to rely on.
  18. McDermott with his age and control issues on any top 100 list would be shocking (unless there's drastic improvement).
  19. Well... He was terrible last year, and shockingly hurt quite often. Also... we were made because we didn't offer him a QO, NOT because we let him walk away.
