  1. The Mendick non-tender is not surprising. I also would have non-tendered. I'd try to bring him back on a minors deal but his histroy + injury + our middle infield close to majors depth (Sosa, Yogurt, Rodriguez, Romy) make him expendable.
  2. Again, we can't solve everything if our owner only allows for a 180 million payroll. Some things will still be severely lacking when said and done.
  3. If we had more money to spend I'd love a better backup CF... But that's the problem... Maybe grab Engel on a minors deal if possible.
  4. At those contracts and prices, Cleinger is the ONLY one where I see some value.
  5. Can't Leury cover CF when Robert sits? Now if Robert has a serious injury and is out weeks at a time... eeeeek
  6. agreed. He can bring back cheaper meaningful talent.
  7. I still prefer Conforto to Bellinger, but Bellinger also makes a lot of sense.
  8. Here's my thrown together offseason. Over 5 million. Sue me. Hendriks for Montas works both financially and logically for both teams. (works easily trade value wise). This bullpen could still be pretty good with the return of Crochet and a bounce back from one of Kelly/Bummer. Traded Romy Gonzalez for Stone Garrett since the DBacks left him off the 40 man AND we have Sosa, Yolbert, Leury and my signing of Frazier to cover 2B. (works trade value wise) Signed Conforto (of course), but could swap Bellinger instead. Signed Frazier as a relatively cheap bounce back who can primarily play 2B but can also cover the corners. Brought in Knebel cheap, and brought back Engel to start out at the 4th OF until Garrett brings himself on. I ideally wanted a better 4th OF but due to roster constraints I decided to go with Frazier over Kiermaier due to flexibility and LH bat. I let Mendick go since we have many others in the minors who can likely do what he does (named above).
  9. Can i not add other players to trade for? Sorry, first time filling this out.
  10. BMAGS, where do I access this to fill out my own?
  11. I do not hate the item of trading Hendriks if we truly have massive money constraits. I still think you roll with the majority of this team and try to win this year. AKA use Hendriks to fill holes elsewhere not for prospects who can't help in 2023.
  12. I'm glad i'm not the only one that would dislike it lol
  13. How can his stuff be that good and not be able to strike anyone out lol
  14. Doesn't he also have a vast injury history?
  15. I mean.. I guess if you view a 1.17 WAR player as a guy you don't need to replace, that's on you. Baseball reference has him at 5.1 WAR (.85 WAR annually) over that same period. Winker averages .27 to .5 WAR more than Engel over a season (depending on where you find your WAR number. Is that good?
  16. He's been replacement level for the vast majority of his career.
  17. You would get a comp if acquired proior to the season beginning
  18. in what way? I'd love him to sign with the Cubs.. they don't matter to me and gets him out of the AL and to a non-contender.
  19. Yes, I do not like him and wouldn't have wanted to sign him... But 13 mil a year isn't much for a SP coming off a great season, let alone an okay season.
