BaseballNick
Engel 2-5, 3B. Eddy Alvarez 2-4. Hunter Jones (CF for the Dash) was 4-5. Great Falls is being no-hit through 6 innings.
caulfield12
http://www.milb.com/milb/stats/stats.jsp?g...ox&sid=milb Morneau was 1/3. Our old friend Moises Sierra playing in that AA game and hitting .343 as his career winds down.
winninguglyin83
Engel hitting .356 with 12 runs scored and five stolen bases in his last 10 games. Two triples and five doubles in his last five games. Keep hope alive.
Dunt
Is Nick Basto a real spec? 22 yo w/ a .292/.364/.446 line in 305 ABs this season between A+ and AA. Anyone have any idea if the Sox plan to keep playing Engel in AA this season? Would be nice to see him move up and maybe have a shot to win that CF position next season. His defense next to Eaton's would be pretty nasty.

He was also drafted as a 3B but didn't stick there, so he's been playing 1B/LF, but heard bad things about OF defense.

Looking ahead to 2017, Jackson likely to be gone, and Shuck is not a long term answer in CF, so Sox will probably at least take a look at both Engel and May. Engel's promo a possibility. Not sure who Sox like best, May or Engel. Of course, they could always move Eaton back to CF next year.
NorthSideSox72
QUOTE (southside hitman @ Jul 12, 2016 -> 09:40 AM) No. He was crushing A+ to start the season, got promoted to Birmingham and s*** the bed up there (.188.253/.238). Was a disaster there, moved to first. Trying him in OF on and off too. His bat has some loudness to it, but it's a really long swing. He's very fringe if he's a prospect at all. Good call, I forgot because that experiment was abandoned so long ago.

I see no reason to move Eaton back to CF unless you add a big bat for a corner spot next season. He plays it at such an elite level that it wouldn't make any sense to do it. thxfrthmmrs
QUOTE (BaseballNick @ Jul 11, 2016 -> 10:24 PM) Engel 2-5, 3B. Eddy Alvarez 2-4. Hunter Jones (CF for the Dash) was 4-5. Great Falls is being no-hit through 6 innings. It's hard to believe, but Moises Sierra is only 27 years old. You'll see him in the majors again.
