Jenksismyhero
I thought maybe this was all an inside job planned to give Erdogan more power, but this story makes it seem like it was for real and very close to succeeding: https://www.theguardian.com/world/2016/jul/...rkish-officials
bmags
QUOTE (JenksIsMyHero @ Jul 18, 2016 -> 03:23 PM) I thought maybe this was all an inside job planned to give Erdogan more power, but this story makes it seem like it was for real and very close to succeeding: https://www.theguardian.com/world/2016/jul/...rkish-officials I'm going to guess the Erdogan in flight thing was the main crux here. It would have been hard for them to get international legitimacy after shooting a president's plane down. Arresting him and giving him trial, probably more legitimate.
