Jose Abreu
MLB Network guys were predicting a blockbuster deal sending Sale to Houston. What package would they have to give up for Sale?
Quin
Was this a rumor or a proposal from MLBN?

flavum
Derosa predicted before the season that the Astros are going to go out and get a pitcher- he predicted Sale or Gray back then. That's all. Nothing to see here.

YouCanPutItOnTheBoardYES!
Bregman, Reed, and McCullers at the VERY least.
LittleHurt05
QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Jul 18, 2016 -> 11:37 AM) MLB Network guys were predicting a blockbuster deal sending Sale to Houston. What package would they have to give up for Sale? Was this a prediction because there is nothing else to talk about on a Monday morning? Or a prediction based on solid information they have from sources?
Bob Sacamano
QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ Jul 18, 2016 -> 11:45 AM) Bregman, Reed, and McCullers at the VERY least. Yep this is a start.

Y2Jimmy0
I'd need Bregman, AJ Reed, and Frances Martes to start.

YouCanPutItOnTheBoardYES!
Springer would be amazing, but he's probably untouchable.
Jerksticks
Can't trade Sale, Harper etc without winning the trade on paper. All GMs know this so the potential hauls would be nintendo style. I love Chris and it's retarded to trade a HOFer but the idea of adding tons of top guys to our blossoming system sounds fun
Dunt
Bregman + McCullers + Tucker
YouCanPutItOnTheBoardYES!
Bregman, Reed, McCullers, Martes, and Tucker. Who says no to that: the Sox or the Astros?
BlackSox13
QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ Jul 18, 2016 -> 12:02 PM) Bregman, Reed, McCullers, Martes, and Tucker. Who says no to that: the Sox or the Astros? That's a huge haul even for Sale. A more fair deal for both sides might look like Sale/Frazier to Houston for Bregman/Reed/McCullers/Martes/Tucker. elrockinMT
I am not sure I have ever heard any trade proposal from the crew at MLBN ever coming true. I am pretty sure it's just them sitting around playing fantasy baseball Edited July 18, 2016 by elrockinMT

Eh, when you're trading a Hall of Famer in their prime on a cheap deal, a lot needs to come back.

shipps
I dont know if there would be a comparable of a team trading this type of asset for a haul of prospects. Considering his durability, age, contract and his numbers. Probably arent many that would be similar because teams just dont trade guys at this exact juncture with that financial freedom like we have with Sale. Lillian
QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ Jul 18, 2016 -> 12:02 PM) Bregman, Reed, McCullers, Martes, and Tucker. Who says no to that: the Sox or the Astros? Where are the established Major Leaguers in that proposed deal? How do you trade Sale for a bunch of prospects? Too many top prospects fail to pan out. How do you trade Sale for a bunch of prospects? Too many top prospects fail to pan out. McCullers would plug into rotation but I get your point. I just don't see any team giving up young controllable position players (Seager, Bogaerts, etc) who are important pieces to these contenders. Steve9347
You don't get guys much closer to ready to contribute in the bigs than Bregman and Reed.
