Dunt
There is no way they'd move Call to WS if he keeps hitting like this...right?
NorthSideSox72
QUOTE (Dunt @ Jul 20, 2016 -> 12:55 PM) There is no way they'd move Call to WS if he keeps hitting like this...right? He just got to Kanny. Let's not Courtney Hawkins this guy. Let him bash there the rest of the year, unless some slot opens up in W-S and they really need a player anyway. Dunt
QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Jul 20, 2016 -> 01:20 PM) He just got to Kanny. Let's not Courtney Hawkins this guy. Let him bash there the rest of the year, unless some slot opens up in W-S and they really need a player anyway. That's the route I would be most interested in them pursuing, but you never know with this organization. He will be 22 for all of next season, so I dont think leaving him in Kanny this year and starting him in WS next year is a bad idea. He'd still be pretty age appropriate for the level. Feeky Magee
Sox took catcher Nate Nolan in the 8th round, gave him $170,000, just under slot. Thought it was a weird choice at the time, given his sky-high K rate in college, and he has had a woeful start. 0-4 today with 4K for Kanny, hit .153/.242/.237 at Great Falls with a >40% K rate. CWSpalehoseCWS
Is Jacob May hurt again or has he really been regulated to Charlotte's 4th/5th OF'er? Find it odd that he would get benched for 5 consecutive games instead of one of the other fillers they have on the team.
Bigsoxhurt35
I really want the sox to not rush all of their hitters. They always do though.

Bigsoxhurt35
QUOTE (GreenSox @ Jul 20, 2016 -> 05:23 PM) Agree and agree He's doing fine but I think they rushed Anderson no question. Now is the time to be patient if they decide to sell.

GreenSox
Desmond had a bad year last year...he was no cinch to shine. He also switched positions...something that the unflexible Whitesox rarely do. On the other hand Burdi was a reach pick to help this year's pen; not a bad pick as far as reaches go. Hopefully they give up on that idea, settle him down, and put him on a path to a starter. SoxAce
QUOTE (TheTruth05 @ Jul 21, 2016 -> 06:55 AM) Meh,who's to say Desmond wouldn't have come here and flopped. Agreed. C'mon fathom you were one of the ones leading the fire Steverson crowd. You think Desmond has the year he's having with him as our hitting coach (according to you)? fathom
QUOTE (SoxAce @ Jul 21, 2016 -> 01:54 PM) Agreed. C'mon fathom you were one of the ones leading the fire Steverson crowd. You think Desmond has the year he's having with him as our hitting coach (according to you)? Might not be as great as he's been this year, but he still would have been one of the best players on the team even if his offensive numbers were way less than what they currently are. He was one of the better players in the NL prior to the first half of last year, and he had a ton to play for this year. Considering he was available with almost no competition for the Sox, it's still inexcusable they didn't lock him up.
GreenSox
Some real blowouts last night. Send Burdi to A ball and work on his starting, please. One bright spot seems to be Jake Peter. Seamless transition to AAA. More middle infield depth (time to trade Lawrie).
royoung
QUOTE (GreenSox @ Jul 21, 2016 -> 09:51 AM) Some real blowouts last night. Send Burdi to A ball and work on his starting, please. One bright spot seems to be Jake Peter. Seamless transition to AAA. More middle infield depth (time to trade Lawrie). He is likely sticking in the bullpen to limit his innings this year then stretching him out as a start next year.
