Bob Sacamano
QUOTE (NCsoxfan @ Jul 25, 2016 -> 09:03 AM) Sounds like NYY will get 4 prospects from the Cubs including Torres And McKinney wow. And I saw Warren as a name going back to NY. I bet the Cubs plan on extending Chapman though.

I bet the Cubs plan on extending Chapman though. I really hope that once this Cubs deal is done we see some major action... Sadly thou, I feel it's going to be a week of pressing the refresh button. Sell, sell, sell, and then sell some more.
Feeky Magee
What an insane seller's market. And of course our major obvious tradable player completely s*** the bed right before the deadline.
hi8is
Also, we've heard this is a sellers market and all the trades so far have indicated that. Hope Hanh can extract maximum value on all fronts. It's time we clearly WIN a trade or three.

GreenSox
Seeing that massive price, the market might quickly be flooded with relievers. You've got to move on these things.

Hope Hanh can extract maximum value on all fronts. It's time we clearly WIN a trade or three. Sale, Robertson and Frazier would top my list of guys that get sent off. Jennings, Duke, Jones, Melky, Lawrie I can see staying or going
South Side Fireworks Man
QUOTE (GreenSox @ Jul 25, 2016 -> 10:54 AM) Seeing that massive price, the market might quickly be flooded with relievers. ptatc
QUOTE (South Side Fireworks Man @ Jul 25, 2016 -> 04:25 PM) Hahn doesn't move fast. I fear he's going to blow it. I hope I'm wrong. Most years it goes right up to the deadline which is a week away. I don't want the front office to rush it.
South Side Fireworks Man
QUOTE (ptatc @ Jul 25, 2016 -> 03:28 PM) Most years it goes right up to the deadline which is a week away. And then for the Sox, nothing happens.
Condor13
QUOTE (South Side Fireworks Man @ Jul 25, 2016 -> 05:41 PM) And then for the Sox, nothing happens. That's the one thing I fear will happen. The Sox will be in talks right up to the deadline and for a second straight year do nothing.
ptatc
QUOTE (South Side Fireworks Man @ Jul 25, 2016 -> 04:41 PM) And then for the Sox, nothing happens. That's fine. if nothing happens that means you wait until the off season. The advantage of waiting is that none of the contending teams are going to trade young talent on the MLB roster during the playoff race. However, they may be able to get one of them in the off season. It's not like Sale or quintana can leave this off season. The better deal might be in the winter. ptatc
QUOTE (Condor13 @ Jul 25, 2016 -> 04:47 PM) That's the one thing I fear will happen. The Sox will be in talks right up to the deadline and for a second straight year do nothing. All that means is that they didn't get a deal they liked. Would you rather them make a trade they didn't like?

Bigsoxhurt35
This is exactly why if Q is traded to Boston, Moncada and Benintendi headline it.

I thought we were talking about the market for closers. I doubt if anyone is going to seriously overpay for a closer during the offseason but someone may if they are in a race for the playoffs. If they want to deal Robertson they best do it while the market is hot, otherwise just keep him.
