Looks like he used to block a trade unless Cleveland would void his option for next season making him a free agent. Don't know if we're on the list or not, but even if we wanted him, he'd do the same here.

white sox were not on no trade list

he rejected the trade because Indians could not guarantee he would catch next sEason thus reducing is potential free agent impact.

Reasonable looking prospect too.

If Gonzalez and Shields are still here Tuesday we riot.

27 year old prospect who got lit up in the MLB and has a 3.38 ERA in the minors

He pitched 2 innings in MLB and struck out 4 guys to no walks. It's a good return for a guy with a 5 ERA, peripherals around 4.50 and still owed $11m this year and next.

There's no reason to trade Gonzalez unless they get something of value

He's a player they picked up on a minors deal pitching reasonably well at a ridiculous time for getting value for average pitchers, and under contract for one more year where they shouldn't be planning on competing. There's every reason to be aggressively marketing him. Sure, if you get literally nothing of value then you don't bother, but if a team can get something for Wade Miley, the Sox should get something for Miguel Gonzalez.
