southsider2k5
QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Aug 9, 2016 -> 03:53 PM) lol, that means he was 1 day short when they sent him down. He'll get it now. Really? He was that close. Wow. Just the fact they called him up today means he has it already then.
Jose Abreu
QUOTE (Hatchetman @ Aug 9, 2016 -> 03:18 PM) I was thinking Shuck might be the worst position player in the majors, but I think that award goes to Mike Aviles. Lip Man 1
QUOTE (bmags @ Aug 9, 2016 -> 02:14 PM) Yep. 34k per year after 43 days of service. A lot of folks could live decently on 34 thousand a year for the rest of their lives for 43 days of service. Didn't realize it was that good. I thought at one time it was four years service before you could qualify, I guess that was bargained to what it is now in deals between the owners and the MLBPA. flavum
Did he hurt himself playing or off day nonsense? Nevermind- they said it happened in the on deck circle on Saturday. Stretching it out. Edited August 10, 2016 by flavum

Balta1701
I had a feeling that I'd come back and find a thread where people were somehow amazed at the number of injuries during a year where the team really wasn't all that beaten up. We had a couple unusually lucky years in a row, with almost record-breaking health, so a year that's not extreme, but even still fairly healthy, looks "snakebit". 2016 for the White Sox is about average so far on total days on the DL, below average in WAR lost to the DL. White Sox have had just over 500 man-days on the DL this year, the Dodgers have had over 1300, and some of those were this Kershaw dude.
