LittleHurt05
New European soccer season, time for a new thread that no one cares about cause it's soccer. Champions League Draw today. Legia Warsaw made it! Now they get to be curb stomped by Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund. Maybe they can salvage a point against Sporting Lisbon. ChiSox_Sonix
QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Aug 25, 2016 -> 03:03 PM) Go Tottenham! They got just about the best UCL draw possible so that was nice. Also, Coutinho, Can and Origi probably out for Saturday which would be great.
GGajewski18
The ref and line judges have been god awful in this Tottenham/Liverpool game. However, Liverpool has dominated this game outside of the first 10 minutes.

3GamesToLove
QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Aug 28, 2016 -> 08:57 AM) Awesome that NBC hired on Ian Drake for the Premier League games They didn't. That's just them airing an international feed; in this case BT Sport. Basically, unless it's Arlo White, you're hearing the English language feed that's broadcast all over the world, not something in-house from NBC. It's probably because he does all the big US games, but he's my top soccer broadcaster to listen to. I wish ESPN would cover the Champions League and Gold Cup instead of FS1. Mostly because of Ian Darke.
3GamesToLove
ESPN's coverage of the Champions League back in the day was quite good, considering where the state of soccer coverage was in the US. Derek Rae is a gem, though Tommy Smyth less so. I wish FOX didn't broadcast any sports, myself.

Pretty good day for depth purposes for the COYS Sissoko to Everton was pretty much done, then Tottenham decided to match Newcastle's offer last minute. Tottenham vs. Everton is pretty simple decision. Sissoko chose Tottenham.
zenryan
Big win for Brazil tonight. A loss would really have made things interesting almost halfway through their cycle.
LittleHurt05
You know you are in a tough World Cup qualifying group when you have to play a day game because your opponent doesn't have lights at their national stadium.
LittleHurt05
Not gonna have a repeat of Antigua 4 years ago, which is good. It would be nice if Trinidad takes care of business tonight, so that Tuesday in JAX is 100% meaningless.

Just regular old double round-robin. No nations getting byes or anything. Can't argue with that.

UEFA has a group with France, Sweden, Netherlands. One qualifies, one probably earns the right to face another good team in a playoff, 3rd place goes home.
