Feeky Magee
Fulmer was perfect through 5 and came out. Juan Minaya has carried the perfect game through 6. Kevan Smith is 2-3 with a HR.

southsider2k5
So really, Fulmer probably does need to be here. Hopefully he gets some starts in September.
NorthSideSox72
Recap posted Fulmer with a very nice outing. Mitch Roman is getting interesting too.
NorthSideSox72
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 28, 2016 -> 07:37 PM) So really, Fulmer probably does need to be here. Hopefully he gets some starts in September. I still think he was brought up too early, and that the pen was a mistake in his particular case at this time. I'd rather he'd been promoted to AAA to start, but it looks like they finally got it right in the end.
flavum
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 28, 2016 -> 07:37 PM) So really, Fulmer probably does need to be here. Hopefully he gets some starts in September. If they want to shut down Shields, I guess that's fine. But on a separate topic, I hope the next CBA addresses how rosters are used throughout the season, and the term "September Call Up" ceases to exist. There are 18 teams alive with 5 weeks left, and it's an absolute joke that rosters expand the final 32 days this year. The season needs to be the season from Day 1 to Day 183. flavum
QUOTE (oldsox @ Aug 29, 2016 -> 12:30 PM) The Union will not agree with you. I didn't say it has to be a stringent 25 man roster at all times. There are creative things they can do throughout the season that gives more opportunities for young players. I'm just saying it should be consistent the entire season. There are too many important games the last month to have 11-man bullpens, and 6- and 7-man rotations. They need to play the season out to the very end.
bmags
I really like the idea of the starting pitchers being "deactivated" for the days between starts to allow expanded rosters. We all want to see the best baseball possible, why not let more players on a team within reason? 25 is too limited with 5 starting pitchers and the way bullpens are used. hi8is
Really curious to see what numbers Fulmer was poping on his pitches.
GreenSox
Bring up Fulmer. Expand rotation to 6. Or put Shields in pen- see if he can reinvent himself there since Sox are stuck with him. Take it easy on Sale and Q and Jones.
