Insp
QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Aug 30, 2016 -> 06:39 PM) Saladino is a good ball player Then why isn't he a starter? More proof of Ventura's unfitness as manager?
Bob Sacamano
QUOTE (Insp @ Aug 30, 2016 -> 06:46 PM) Then why isn't he a starter? More proof of Ventura's unfitness as manager? I think he could be a capable every day middle infielder on a team with a really good offense. Not this current team though.
Dick Allen
QUOTE (Insp @ Aug 30, 2016 -> 06:46 PM) Then why isn't he a starter? More proof of Ventura's unfitness as manager? Lawrie is better, and younger.
Chisoxfn
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Aug 30, 2016 -> 04:49 PM) Lawrie is better, and younger. They are pretty much the same age, however, Saladino has shown steady improvement in his first two seasons in this league (this being his second year). That said, he obviously has the benefit of playing a platoon role which may help inflate his standalone cause. Defensively Tyler is the superior player and offensively, Tyler has shown some positive trends. Lawrie definitely has the more proven track record and slightly higher OPS from the offensive perspective. Tyler is also under team control for a while and while both have the benefit of being able to play multiple positions, Tyler can play 3B / SS / 2B and play them well. Basically put, I see more upside giving Tyler more playing time then Lawrie, given overall control (might as well see what we have, is it a darn good back-up or do we have a good serviceable starter). elrockinMT
Great bullpen. You bring in a guy with an ERA touching 5 3/4 and then a guy with an ERA over 8 1/2 and in its way up

Lip Man 1
Sox are now 21-43 at Comerica since the start of the 2010 season. Ventura is 14-32. And I understand the Sox don't have a lot of choices but you look at the ERA's of the pitchers they used tonight...Ranaudo 8.7; Albers 6.1; Turner 7.7 YIKES!
