shipps
I have to fight the urge in each new thread to not respond "god this is depressing" in every one. Its just all so disappointing with very minimal positive signs I am....just done.

elrockinMT
September call ups are kind of a fun thing. Why so much gloom and doom?
Hatchetman
QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Sep 1, 2016 -> 03:08 PM) September call ups are kind of a fun thing. Why so much gloom and doom? way back in the olden days it was your first chance ever to see some guys you had maybe heard about. These two are just roster fodder. I don't know why they need another pitcher anyway. They never let Ynoa pitch as is.
Donny Lucy's Avocado Farm
QUOTE (Hatchetman @ Sep 1, 2016 -> 03:12 PM) way back in the olden days it was your first chance ever to see some guys you had maybe heard about. These two are just roster fodder. I don't know why they need another pitcher anyway. They never let Ynoa pitch as is. Had there not been a black hole at SS to start the season, Tim Anderson would be all the news/rage today. But as we all know, he is putting up ROY numbers for the better part of 3 months now. Aside from Anderson and Fulmer, no... there isn't a lot to be excited about on the "fun to watch" guys coming up from the minors.
Chisoxfn
Kevan Smith should be interesting. Guy who has a chance to stick around the big leagues as a backup.
CWSpalehoseCWS
QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Sep 1, 2016 -> 03:32 PM) Kevan Smith should be interesting. Its just all so disappointing with very minimal positive signs I am....just done. Yea even Tim Anderson in the lineup on a Carlos start doesn't really get me to tune in. Just a boring, bad team yet again. Cancelled my MLB.tv months ago. Renewed it briefly when TA came up then cancelled again. Didn't bother going to a game here in Seattle when they came this year. First time for that. Had been four years in a row since I moved here.
Hatchetman
I dunno guys. Nobody complains about the FO more than me, but I've seen much MUCH worse teams on the field than this. This team is actually entertaining sometimes.

Nobody complains about the FO more than me, but I've seen much MUCH worse teams on the field than this. This team is actually entertaining sometimes. Well that's the rub. They have some decent, even star players. They also have a lot of really s***ty players. The "stars and scrubs" approach can work but not when your scrubs are quite this bad. Donaldo
QUOTE (RegionSox @ Sep 1, 2016 -> 02:58 PM) I'm glad Kevan Smith is getting another chance. Me too. What happened to him in Toronto was unbelievable.
flavum
When Smith and Minaya played Thursday, they were the 25th and 26th players to play their first game with the White Sox this year. 26 new players matches 1995, the year the strike ended and they were patchwork all season. Zack Burdi...we need you to break a record. BTW...on average, the Sox add 16-17 new players each year. The last five years, they're above 20, which makes sense considering how many bullpen pitchers straddle AAA and the majors nowadays. Last year was way way worse for reasons I can't even identify. But this group seems more competent and fun.
Hatchetman
I couldn't stand the Adam Dunn, Alex Rios, DeAza, declining AJ and Pauly years. But that's just me.
SCCWS
QUOTE (bmags @ Sep 3, 2016 -> 11:31 AM) Yeah I still find team entertaining. On this date last year Sox were 8 games under .500 so at 6 right now they are having a better season.................... Unfortunately they then went into KC and won 3 of 4 so we need to keep winning this weekend.
Donaldo
QUOTE (CWSpalehoseCWS @ Sep 1, 2016 -> 04:30 PM) Still scary to think the Sox catching duo next year is scheduled to be Narvaez/Smith. Scarier than Flowers/Nieto? The Sox haven't had a true "everyday" Catcher since AJ. QUOTE (flavum @ Sep 3, 2016 -> 09:37 AM) 26 new players matches 1995, the year the strike ended and they were patchwork all season. There were 25 total pitchers on the roster that year (I'm not counting Dave Martinez). Look at some of these names! 1995 Sox Roster
