greg775
What a terrible game. Sox are back in the tank. Playing bad baseball, too. This should assure Robin's fate. Team is a disgrace.
GreenSox
Just play the bench. It is September...late September. Going through the motions from front office to dugout. And I pitch counts may be meaningless (although I think they do matter) but they also serve no purpose. Why take the chance in meaningless games? The front office apparently had its reasons (as they did nothing to stop them and Ventura has been pitching sale to high counts the last month). caulfield12
Kind of like the end of the 2011 season...except for the excitement of Ozzie bolting for the Marlins, Cora being rejected as "fill-in" manager and Cooper trying his hand at the rudder. Lip Man 1
Pretty bad when the Phillies can beat you three out of four played this season. Oh well. Update: Here's how irrelevant the Sox are becoming. Just caught CSN Chicago's Sports report to see the highlights. When they were done the anchor said, "the Sox will try to avoid the sweep tomorrow..." The Sox are off tomorrow according to my schedule and the Sox web site. ChiliIrishHammock24
QUOTE (SoxAce @ Sep 21, 2016 -> 08:23 PM) I still can't believe you think he has a chance at this point. Well now only was he the AL fWAR leader today, but Bovada put him as the favorite to win the Cy Young. He certainly had a chance before tonight, even though I thought Porcello was the favorite. ChiSoxFanMike
Honestly, I'd shut every starter down and hope to lose out in order to get the 10th pick. There's nothing to play for anyway at this point.

There's nothing to play for anyway at this point. The 10th pick only matters really if they are planning on going on and signing a front line free agent. I don't think that is going to happen. Bob Sacamano
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 22, 2016 -> 07:18 AM) The 10th pick only matters really if they are planning on going on and signing a front line free agent. I don't think that is going to happen. Yep. Knowing how they operate, they won't. I expect them to middle it and say "we are competing."
