Quin
QUOTE (Jerksticks @ Nov 4, 2016 -> 09:02 AM) Well I think most Americans (even center lefts to medium lefts) probably realize a conservative SCOTUS is safer for the people. That's why Trump will probably win. But I think to your point, in case of a Hillary victory, most people probably want a republican congress to slow any Hillary/Bernie ideas down. For example, those crazies want complete govrnmt control of healthcare. Scary scary scary to those who fight for their dollars. I think you'll see that reflected in the final voting. If by safer, you mean safer for straight white Christians. Everyone else, well, no.

lostfan
QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Nov 3, 2016 -> 08:29 PM) I wouldn't this year. His model is over reactive to everything and seems designed to swing hard to relatively minor inputs and has tons of uncertainty baked in. Plus some of the poll adjustments they're doing don't seem to make any sense. Right now it's really just him hedging ridiculously because he screwed up so bad on the primaries. 538's model correlates everything too much. For example, if a new poll of Oklahoma came out tomorrow and Trump gained a couple of points there, nates model would drop Clinton's odds overall even though there's already a 0% chance she wins that state. But a movement for Trump in one poll nudges everything slightly in his favor. It allows for his model to pick up small shifts in a short period, but it also means it's very sensitive to every tiny little input. Nate also is fully aware that these massive swings in polling are mirages but since people (like me) go to his site every day he treats it all as if it's real movement in the polls. StrangeSox
Y'all shook, but none is more shook than nate this year. Some buzz that Latino early voting turnout in Florida is already higher than total turnout in 2012. Vote is trending less and less white by the day there. Even bigger gains in Nevada as well today. bmags
I sympathize with him in that the things he points out are historically true but this year has certainly been strange with the decline of quality polls and severe decline of quantity of polls in anything other than florida, ohio and national. And with that I think he has overstated them while not focusing on any of the fundamentals that would appear to be more stable.
caulfield12
QUOTE (raBBit @ Nov 5, 2016 -> 06:11 AM) Even President Obama is having trouble on the campaign trail in Fayetteville. http://www.vox.com/2016/11/5/13533468/trum...hoo&ref=yfp And the story of how he actually was defending a Trump heckler...very presidential of him, despite the temptation of going the easy route. It's getting to the point where people don't even take the time to watch the videos or first verify the validity of tweets/retweets (that don't fit their narratives) before posting them these days. greg775
Please answer this truthfully. In a hypothetical situation, lets say a genie would assure you 100 percent that the Sox would win the WS next season and make playoffs seven of the next 10 years (only assuring the one WS crown; Sox would have to earn the rest) but the tradeoff is your beloved Hillary would LOSE to Trump and Trump would be president one term. Would you take the deal with the genie? Nothing else would be asked of you. Just this tradeoff.

I voted for her but my support is tepid. Let's say I need a new way to get work and my choices are a 1986 Mazda with a number of issues (Hillary) vs. having one of those guys from Mad Max making me hold on to one of those 25 foot swaying poles while he's driving 100mph with people shooting arrows at me (Trump). Was a pretty easy choice given the options. Edited November 5, 2016 by BigSqwert

caulfield12
QUOTE (greg775 @ Nov 5, 2016 -> 01:33 PM) Make a poll on here and you'll see how many will admit to loving Hillary and the idea of 8 years of Hillary. We already went through this a week ago. The how much time have you spent reading over the bios and backgrounds of the third party candidates so far this election cycle? If you's devoted just 10% of the time you have to that rather than anti-Hillary speeches, you'd realize how lacking they are...not to mention Trump is actually gaining votes now from those wavering on Johnson and Stein, moreso than Clinton. None of them can win, so you're actually saying you want Trump more than Clinton if you push the third party option. It's kind of taking the easy road out...instead of choosing from one of the two win possibilities. It doesn't make sense to think Hillary's the devil and then not choose the likeliest probability for defeating or stopping her.

greg775
Assange says Trump, "won't be allowed to win." If our country is fixing elections, a dictator is someday possible. What the hell is happening to us? I don't care if Hillary wins if it's fair and square. Very sad. This guy has ALL the leaked info and says Trump cannot win. I am scared for our future if elections are rigged. Edited November 6, 2016 by greg775
